how often do u format ur windows?

I have a lot of reasons to format my Windows installation. The main reason is Viruses and SpyWare. they completely slow my system down and make it a nightmare to access the internet. So I usually format the windows if I think that they have affected my PC and since none of the Anti Virus software are completely effective against this, I format the windows and start installing a new copy of the OS. This also helps me to keep my stuff organised because I usually go for a complete format, so I have to calculate which data to keep and which to delete, which helps me to keep them in a better fashion. I do not follow a set pattern for formating the OS, but its usually once a three months because that's the average time in which my OS gets corrupted or gets affected by virus. bourne

I only formatted windows when a virus affected my system file.Nowadays i don't format my windows.I use tweaking tools and make my computer run faster.

I never reformat my system. it is just too time consuming it is way faster to troubleshoot the problem and fix it. i.e. hardwware upgrades or cleaning up your system temp files.

Hmmm. I format my system once or twice in a month.It's easier to get rid of viruses that way.I don't have the problem with speed of computer but those viruses and adwares drives me crazy. I prefer formatting but my friends say it can crash your harddisk but who cares until it's under warranty.

I reformat my windows when my OS really is slowing down and I'm beginning to see a lot of errors during a normal usage... I think if really maintained well you can have a healthy Windows as long a yr or more. now I'm almost 1 yr using my windows because i already know what are viruses and where i can find them in system folders. Spyware doesn't work to me either because I always prefer not to go sites with lots of pop-ups or just closing them. I do the power user stuffs in Windows and it helps a lot to maintain my computer.

I format my windows only when i must do it when some virus attack my pc or soemthing its wrong and when i feel that i must do it i do. But im not one of this person who regulary format hard drive.

it is not needed to format pc very often because the hard disk may cause damage by formating very often, the best way is install any anti virus program and anti spy. and every 2nd week clear your pc from temp files and unneeded files, scan HDD.
