Change the flavour of breast milk by eating an hour before feeding...

July 25, 2008 11:00am CST
Newly mothers have been complaining about having trouble getting their babies to breast feed. nursing mothers were shown how to make a 'banana milk shake' from their breast to entice their babies to feed. Scientists discovered that if the mother eats a banana an hour or less than feeding time the baby will taste the fruit. It can also be given other flavours the same way. Such as menthol, caraway seed and liquorice according to tests by Danish researchers. 'Breastfeeding may prepare the infant for flavour changes when they start to eat solid foods.' So if you were to flavour your milk for your baby, what flavour would you choose and what would you eat to encourage the flavour??

Yes I learned that what I ate could be tasted by my babies when they fed and so I had to be careful what I ate beforehand! I guess I would have a variety for them, banana one day then choccy and all sorts of different flavours for them!

I'm not married, i'v got no kids yet. But my sister can give birth anytime this month so i'm gonna tell her about this... Well, if i were to put flavors, I'll think a choco banana flavor will be great or strawberry vanilla too... haha...
