i have my internet through my cable company and yet when my tv goes out my cable doest.. or even when my electricity does mine doesnt (mine is through a wireless router so i would think that it would mess it up with no electricity.. so is it just because its different things going through the same wire or what? i always thought down with one down with all

It's the way you're connected. My TV, PC, router, & telephone are all on the cable and on a UPS. When the power goes out (common this time of year), I can still keep up. I use Vonage, so that goes over the cable, too.

I absolutely love it. The drawback is when the net goes down, but otherwise it's terrific. There's no difference in quality with a regular landline, just the price. My wife lives in Canada. That's a free call for me. My best friend lives in Moscow. That's only 4 cents a minute. I would recommend Vonage to everyone.

I always assumed that if it needed power then it went out when the power was out. Thats awesome that yours doesn't! My dial up doesn't go out when the power goes out...but the computer does unless im on the laptop and the battery isn't low. I know with comcast the internet can go down but the cable tv can still be up even though it runs through the same box.

Mine lasts me about 2 hours and 15 minutes. I'm looking into purchasing a second battery for it, hopefully an 8 cell battery.

Well, theirs probably a battery or some sort that stores the power in it. It probably doesn't last for very long, but without electricity, unless theirs a battery of some sort, it will go off.
