Do you worry that you're not going to accomplish your life goals?

Have you ever worried that you will run out of time to accomplish the things you wanted for yourself? When I was a teenager, I was in such a rush to get into college; get the perfect job and then get on with my life. I had the perfect plan for my life. I wanted to be a famous writer and publish books. Of course, my life didn't turn out the way I had planned. But I'm still happy with things. I'm not a famous writer. But in a way I'm famous. When I do write online, I have an active audience and I make money. I've written ebooks which have been enjoyed by many. So that's sort of like being famous. I used to worry that I wouldn't accomplish my goals before I got too old. Now I realize that things happen in their own time.

I'm happy for you for what you already accomplish in life. As for me I'm not worried that i'm not going to accomplish my life's goal. The reason is that I'm working on it everyday. It may take sometimes but I'm willing to wait. No matter how long it takes.

my life goals have changed at every stage of my life. If for example, i had set goals as a teenager, they would be relevent to my wants and needs as a teenager. However, they may be of little interest to me as a 40 year old. With this in mind, i am not afraid of missing my life's goals but i am constantly aware that my goals change as the game moves on blessed be

That sounds like what happened to me. Life changed around me. And I changed ages. So I had to change goals. Things I cared about then are of little importance to me now as a mom. I am focused on other goals and those mean much more to me now. More relevant to my stage of life. Thanks for your comments. Great clarification!

I have always wanted to write a book myself. That is great that you are able and know how to write ebooks. This sounds like you have really done a lot. I have been writing a childern's book about animals myself. It ios just something or me to do to relax when i'm not reading a book or if i am not online.

Check out Lulu publishing online. It's a vanity publishing company that will publish a physical hard copy of your book when it sells. Like when someone requests it, they bind it and ship it out. You would provide the actual writing. They publish almost everything from children's stories and art books to recipe books. Check them out online. They only charge a small fee per book published. Think it's like $3.00 and that is added to what the customer pays. I believe that is right.

I only worried when it pertains to my children. I always wanted to accomplish things for their welfare. But it it only concerns me, it is okay if I failed. But when it comes to my children I do worry but accepts it if it did not really materialize. Esspecially if I already gave my best.

Hi Beauty Queen , I am not where I thought I would be in my life , but it is much better than it was a few years back . I have done things I never thought I would , and had the time of my life many times . Life sometimes goes by so fast , and time flies by , and I seem to always take the long rd too , and always have . Yes , you are famous in a way , and if you are happy that is all that counts . That ebook is pretty cool too that is more than many people have done I am sure . Never worry it is never too late , to real a goal or a dream . I think Im gonna do an ebook self publish with my poetry , and see how that goes .

It does seem that there may not be sufficient time to accomplish things that you want ,probably because of the high expectations. Hence better to keep the expectations and the goals lower. Also I find that if I focus on the goal and not worry about the time, then it gets to be easier to achieve.

Oh, I definitely worry that I won't get to do what I want to do. My whole life I've dreamt of being a superstar, a singer! I wasn't really given a chance to prove my ability until I was in college and performed in a talent show. I didn't win, but I kinda did.. because my dad said if I found songs that I could record a demo, well, about 3 years ago in June I came to Nashville and recorded a 2 song demo. Then the next summer I was back down here to record a whole album, and then Winter 2007 my album was released officially, not on a label or anything.. but it's been online and stuff. I'm definitely not where I want to be yet, but I have had some success, I mean, it was probably only about 4 years ago when I first got taken seriously about my singing. Anyway, in January we moved to Tennessee to be closer to Nashville.. and ironically, I went to Nashville more before we lived here. But that's because of money and gas prices really. Even with that success, I do still worry, I feel like there are just too many things in my way and that I am not strong enough to make it. And even thought people have told me how good I am, well, sometimes I doubt it.. especially when I hear people I think are better than me. And I just feel like if I don't make it all the way I am not going to be content to just doing it as a hobby, that is not who I am, I am happiest when I am on stage and in the spotlight. So yea, I definitely worry things will never happen.. I think it's cool that you have written ebooks though! That is very cool! I always try to think of stuff to write even for AP, which I just recently joined, and I am totally blocked! So you must be talented!

Yep, actually, on my music myspace I have I think 5 or 6 songs in the player that is on my page. Also, I finally found a html player that allowed me to link to my songs in order to post it on my mylot profile. I had wanted to put a music player on my profile, and I figured that it would be cool to let my friends on here hear some of my songs! Yep, I thought it was so cool when wal-mart did that! I definitely like to hear what I'm buying first, unless it's one of the bands or artists that I already am familiar with! Also, I have my banners to the places that have my music online, except for i-tunes, because there is no banner for that. LOL so I just write that I can be found on i-tunes under my name and what album name to look for. Oh definitely! Marketing really is important! And I really have a problem with that, like getting people to actually visit my myspace to begin with. LOL Yea, I really hope it works out too, because I've never really wanted anything else, more recently I have been reading about something I might want to do if I don't make it with my music, but I'd have to go back to school for a year or so to get certified, and right now money is tight.. and I can't even afford to start the process of recording a new album until things get better. But for now I just basically try to post my music online, and that's all I can do--since it's not like I can force anyone to buy it!

Have you put a small clip of your song online at your website or Myspace page? Sometimes a tiny clip of a single will influence a person to buy. They used to do that in the Walmart. They had listening stations and would let a buyer listen to a piece of a song. Really makes a difference. Don't forget to link to the buy page for your music. I'm sure you're very talented. Gotta get the word out. Marketing is key. Best of luck to you. You're living one of the dreams that passed me by! Hope it works out for you.

I will answer in short by paulo coelho's quote (they aren't exact words but means the same) 'For so long have i aspired to get you dearly, that the whole universe have conspired to meet us up.. Just think you already achieved your goal, you will do it for sure... Or read the book 'the secret'

I have accomplished quite a few things. I notice as my life goes on my goals change. I think that is a good thing. Gives us something new to strive for. I wanted to be married. I wanted to have a family. I got that. I am happy with the goals I have already achieved.

In a nutshell, I worry about these sorts of things countless times every day. A person once told me that I need to take things less seriously but I am not sure that I am being unrealistic. Granted, I can look in my past and see that, yes, I have set and realized my goals but as I get older somehow, the stakes seem higher. It is like a clock is ticking and a window of opportunity is getting hazier. As I work through what I need to give rest to, I find my self to be more content and more focused on where I want to journey. I have also had to begin to learn what I do control and what I don't, like you say that you realize that things happen in their own time. Our lives aren't just about goals, our lives are about meanings, too. Sometimes, I have to wonder if we are sometimes too goal oriented and miss the meaning of the process itself.

I do not worry about not accomplishing my goals as I do not have any life goals. I have short term goals but that is it. I want to achieve many things in my life and I will decide on these as I go through life rather than aiming for something over the next fifty odd years. If I did make an aim for that far in the future, by the time I got to that point then I would probably not be that bothered about it any more as I will have changed.

I'm not worried at all. My life's goal is to take evey day as it comes and to do my best. When I see something I wan, I need to do MY BEST o ahieve that. If it ca't happen then it wasn't meant to happen, but if it can and does happen, there's no quetion in my mind that it was meant to be.

I used to set goals for myself. And I always accomplished them. I became a very successful business person and was well known through out my field. But health issues took that away from me. Now I enjoy life and enjoy being around friends and family. Because that is more important then being a success and reaching your goals.

Well, we set goals that we would want to achieve. However, there maybe times when for some reasons, we do not get to accomplish them. Personally, there are times when I become anxious as to whether I would get to achieve my goals or not. I get to fear the possible consequences of failure. There are a lot of things I would like to achieve at this point in time of my life. And I would definitely want to achieve them all. I do agree with you, things happen in their own time.
