Which do you prefer and why? Personally we go for alternative care because I feel the medical community just wants to give us medications to mask the problems not fix them.

blogging2 well I dont prfer alternative care as I see a lot of people in the waiting room where I have been a few times and they are there as a result of alternative care. One lady had this for an appendix and it almost burst while she sat waiting to get treated in the ER.I workedfor years as a nurses aid in a local hospital and my dad was a small town doctor. I belive in the medical community and the medications i take for mydiabetes which helps me to live a normal life. i have seen too many go to altenative care when they needed a real medical docto and a surgeon.its danger to self diagnose and self treat without a medical degree. There may be some uses for alternative care but not when the problem has to be solved with surgery. I fell two years ago and badly fractured my left shoulder. all the alternative care in the wo rld would not have put the smashed bones back together. I had to have a shoulder joint replacement and without that my left arm would have beentotally useless.

I agree 110% that for emergency care the medical community is the place to go. It is general health where I would disagree. It seems that the general health is better handled (for me at least) in chaning something in my life that was causing the problem rather than masking it with medications. (Of course I was misdiagnosed and they removed my gall bladder fo absoluetly no reason, so I am a little jaded I must admit!) Thanks for posting!
