Shooting at a Knoxville Tennessee church

There was a shooting this morning at a Knoxville Tennessee church. The shooter walked into the church and started firing. The children were performing a play so they were all up front. When the shooting began the children were escorted quickly out throught an exit. 9 people were shot (2 have now died) and others in critical. The shooter apparently was mad because his parents used to make him go to church and he thought the bible contradicted itself. I was especially effected because my husbands whole family lives in Knoxville Tennessee and we were so happy to find out that it was not their church. But I am still so saddened the fact that this happened to anyone. It makes me so angry that a person can not go to a place of worship with out thinking that someone with a gun won't come in behind you and kill you. That scares me. What is wrong with these people, going to church's, going to schools, and just killing people for no reason, just because they have problems. I feel for these families. We need to pray for the families. I thank God that the kids were able to get out alive and that more people were not hurt. It just makes me sad that things like this happen.

My husband heard about the shooting and came and told me. My first thoughts were of a friend and his wife who pastor a church in Knoxville. I haven't thought to ask her about this shooting, but I'm sure it wasn't there church since I've talked with her several times today. But this is so sad that a person would choose a church to shoot people. But the world is getting worse every day to live in. We have so many sick people in this world that don't give it a thought about shooting someone.

I'm glad to know it wasn't your friends church. Yeah, the world is getting scarier every day. I worry about my son growing up with all the stuff that is going on nowadays. But I pray that God will watch over him and take care of him.
