I think it is terrible that a hospital can be given the permission to take a person off a respirator without the okay from a member of his/her family! It is morally wrong to decide who can live and who will die. To me, this is going to give them a reason to remove people from respirators that might would have lived and also give them a chance to not let dying cancer patients in the hospital= p...

We keep our doors locked when we are gone and even when we are home. We also lock them if only one is here and we are outside working. You never know who is lurking around, ready to pounce on you. Although we keep our doors and windows securely locked, you are never safe from burglars. My husband and I aren't going to get one. We don't even get the regular flu shot. My Mother will get the regular one that she gets every year. We aren't in the age limit that would let us get the H1N1 vaccine any way. And I doubt that my grandkids or 2 kids will get it, either. I'm kind of scared of these quickly-produced vaccines anyway.

My Mother is still living at the age of 92 1/2. I see her 5 days a week, cook breakfast and lunch for her and do housework. So I see her often, not just on a holiday. The only times I've ever went a long time without seeing my parents is the times we lived in other states when my husband was in the Air Force and we couldn't get home. I'd go every week anyway if I wasn't helping her.

Yes, we've had it to happen to us. My husband asked for tomato and lettuce to be added to a regular hamburger and they charged him an outrageous price for it. The difference in the cost of an egg and biscuit and biscuit/egg/cheese is VERY outrageous anyway!

When you give someone the leeway to do something like this, there is no way we would have of proving that there was an influx of flu cases to a particular hospital to warrant dismissing patients or removing others from life-saving devices. You are so right, Mommyboo. I think they are trying to play God, too! Even my doctor isolates those with symptoms of the flu. They do not sit in the same waiting room with the others. I was there getting a test one day downstairs and they had a guy sitting upstairs in another area,wearing a face mask, away from the outside waiting room. I liked that idea!

I weaned my kids off at 9 months. By 6 months,I had them drinking from a sippy cup, and by nine months they were drinking from it by themselves. I gave them milk and water or juice all day long. I would just sit it on the table and they'd pick it up and drink when they wanted it. I never had a problem with them.

We don't have a Wii, but my daughter brought theirs over on July 4th and left it with her son that had been staying with us this summer. We love bowling, so we bowled a couple nights in a row.
