Recommended sites for airfare, car rentals etc..

I will be vacationing to the US soon and will be there for about 2 months or so. I will be staying with my cousin most of the time but if in case we plan on travelling to different states, what are the best sites to go to to get the best deals in air fares, hotels and car rentals?
And also what places can you recommend that we can go to? My cousin lives in Philadelphia by the way.

katzgaw You could start out in Philadephia as there are all
sorts of historical landmarks and place to visit there, and if you plan on going to different states Wyoming with Jackson Hole and the teton mountains is one good place to go.Colorado has a lots of good places to go also and in California you have the
Pacific ocean and yosemite park and a lot of otherplaces. If I were you I would gogglefor all the info you need that would help you the most. YOu would get info on the different states and what tourist attractions each had. good luck and happy vacations.

Thanks Hatley. Yes, I heard that Philadelphia has a lot of landmarks that we can go to, and we will definitely visit those (I will bug my cousin to tour us :) ). I will check the other states that you have mentioned also. But I don't think California will be an option for us since it really is far from Philadelphia, unless we can get a good deal on air fare.
I have seen a lot of sites like exepedia and orbitz, and I am wondering if these are the best sites to look for fare deals/hotels/car rentals. I am no expert in these stuffs so I would really appreciate it if you or anyone can suggest a good travel agency or web sites.
