Subha I am sorry to hear this. Tension is but a natural thing when our loved ones are not well. But dear, we have to be brave and fight it out. I am sure your father would be okay soon. you take care.

Sometimes I have. When I am especially worried about something, I tend to either bottle it up or go talk to somebody. A long hot shower or bath can help tense muscles, as well as a long hard session at the gym. I have gone to the gym to run before because I was upset. I think it is key to find some things to take your mind off worrying about your dad. This is not bad to think of other things, it gives you some time to focus on you. Go out and do something with a friend, something you enjoy or the friend enjoys. Maybe read a book or magazine, get coffee or have a treat you don't normally have. Take a walk, or have a picnic. Do you journal? Writing down your thoughts can help you sort out what matters.

I can understand what you are going through. Once I have also faced tremendous pressure when I was buying my new apartment. Of course it was not related to some dear one like it is in your case. But I used to read some 'stotra' or chant, or meditate for some time. When I couldn't do any of these, I used to talk to people, take a bath etc. One thing I learned in those days was that you should not stay alone for a long time. If you find yourself lonely, you should drink a glass of water and mix into people. It could be family, friends etc. Try these and see if it helps.
