Feel about this? I am going to the doctor tomorrow for the first time since well over a year and a half. I am diabetic and have recently developed some problems. My feet have been swollen severely for 3 - 4 months most of the time really red .Now it seems to be higher in my legs and I cant stand for anyone to touch either my feet or my legs. I have a cough that has hung on for awhile and sometimes cough up blood, not alot tho. I have had a sore throat for about 2-3 months . Basically I have symptoms of congestive heart (dont think the sore throat is..lol) . There are a couple more things going on besides those (embarassing to mention) . which could also indicated the same. But they could also be possible renal failure. I am tired alot and cant concentrate. I am kind of afraid of what I might find out.I am sure he will order some tests to see whats up. I sound like a train wreck or a whiner, I dont know which. Wish me well folks .It is my bedtime I am exhausted.

Hey there, it's always gonna be a nervous situation when you are going to the doctor to potentially find out what disease you have. However, if you do not go to the doctor, you might be more affected by the illness as a result of the disease developing in your body. I don't know about you but I'd rather know what's wrong about me than not knowing what's wrong.

Well I think diabetes is already taking a toll on you. You should see a doctor about it as soon as possible. I have a feeling that your problem in you foot and legs is caused by you diabetes. I hope your still taking medications of your sugar or perhaps taking insulin. Also you should also monitor your blood sugar levels since I suspect your blood sugar is high already. If you could put it down better.

I am sure thats what the problem is as well. We have changed the way we eat somewhat, but maybe those changes havent been enough and we will have to be watch things even closer than before.

Well sometimes when your sugar levels have been long time unmonitored to be high it will take some time before it would go down to normal levels again.

I hate going to the doctors. I hadn't been in over 2 years and finally scheduled my annual physical. Last week I was having a horrible time breathing and ended up in the hospital. They couldn't find anything wrong with me and sent me home. I went to my doctor and she's trying something that seems to be working. I go back for a check on this tomorrow. Hopefully I wont be back until November, when my physical is scheduled!

My problems seem minimal to yours. My doc has put me on an inhaler this past week - which seems to have worked... I hope all goes well for you!

It's definitely a serious infection. I don't think your feet would turn red from congestive heart failure alone. It's good that you're going to the doctor.

Hello Jeanena, Sorry to hear about all your medical conditions. With having Diabeties, you should be seeing the doctor regularly. He/she will be able to help you control it so that these other symptoms don't come. You should have gone to see him 2-3 months ago when you started getting these other problems. Hopefully whatever it is they can catch early enough. I wish you all the best, and please, I know it's a pain, but you have to see him regularly. My family and I are fanatics about seeing the doctor and making sure everything is fine. My grandfather had diabeties, didn't go to the doctor all the time, lost control of it, ended up having to have a quadupal bipass, then he got gangerine in his leg and had to have that amputated, then the other leg got gangerine and that had to be amputated. He made sure after that to go to the doctors on a regular basis which kept him going for a few more year. Finally he passed due to his complications. I cant stress enough how important it is for you to see him regularly. God Bless and take care of yourself.

I will do better from now on. I heard they have a sliding fee scale at the clinic in the town i am going to today , so maybe it wont be too big a hardship to go regularly.

Hello there! I am also a diabetic. I have been since the age of 3 and a half. Please don't take this as criticism because it is anything but that... but hon why have you not been to the doc for as long as you have? I can understand your nervousness about your symptoms. Anyone with emotion would get nervous about a new diagnosis. YOU ARE NOT ALONE about that. I am going to send you an add request, ok?... to keep in touch. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

I also just read the reason for not going. Ok... now I can understand a little. Do you have the option of a form of medical assistance? Maybe that would be a way to go.

It's natural to be afraid of finding out something unpleasent. But, as you've noticed yourself, something is wrong. So in a way, you have already found out. Not finding something out doesn't make it not happen. We sometimes tend to think that, if we're not conscious of something, then it's not there. At this point, seeing a doctor is not about finding out if somethin gis wrong. From what you said, it clearly is. Seing a doctor now is necessary to try and make your quality of life better. A good reason to go.

Do not worry! I think those problems come from diabetes, so the best thing you can do is to see a doctor ASAP. Anyway, you should be optimistic. Nothing can defeat you. Hope get better news from you.

Thank you Carrie . All my tests came out pretty good. No explantion as to why my feet and legs have been swelling so bad . Time for a new dr??

You are very welcome. It seems odd to me that they can't give you any advice about the swelling. Are you having any other symptoms regarding that? I almost think that if it was me I would talk to a different doctor specializing just in ciculatory issues. Take care of yourself sweetie! This world needs you. *big smiles*

Being Diabetic, it could be a number of things. But to allow this to continue on like this for months like you have is not good either. Sounds like you have some major underlying issues going on there. A severe infection could be part of it as well since your skin is red, and you are swollen. I know from experience what you are explaining here is not good, and you probably need to be put in a hospital on Antibiotics, etc. to get checked out better, and to help get everything under control. Is it due to lack of Insurance or what that has kept you from a Doctor before this? I will be keeping you in thought and Prayer, and hope you will update us when you find out more.

being nervous is a natural reaction or a natural feeling. but with your condition right now you really need to go and see your docotr. he can be the only one to help you right now. you need to go to hear what you need to hear and what is the state of your condition. you just need to think that you will get well soon and evrything will be alright

Hello, jeanena! Wow, those are some serious problems. I am glad that you are going to the doctor, because he can heal you. He can make your problems go away. You seem to be in a bad situation, but, no matter what you find out, it will be better, because the doctor will help you. You should not fear the truth. Instead, you should be looking forward to finding out what is your problem and start fighting against it. I wish you luck! Respectfully, Munhozmib.

yes, it is very common for us to be nervous before a new thing happened. we all would be worried about the unknown answers, it is common sense, for we are not confident enough. i have the same feeling before.
