The free AVG 8 in combination with another free pctools firewall works me. Relying on these tools alone is a sure invitation to malwares, we should beef it up with safe web practices and respond correctly to system prompts and error messages.

I've been using the Kaspersky for about a week now and have been very impressed with it so far. The only thing with these viruses, there is always something new coming about and the efeectiveness of the anti virus does not remain for long.

For the past 8 years I have used both a firewall from Zone Alarm and Norton Antivirus which became Norton system works. I now use Norton 360 and this version added privacy and site authentication. Great protection is of the utmost importance.

fathaz... I like using AVG. It's got an amazing interactive scanner, that constantly monitors all that's coming in, like all e-mail messages, internet sites, and downloads. You can set the timer as to how often you want the automatic scan performed. It also has a free version which covers the whole shee-bang, so you don't really have to buy it. The other one that I've tried that's REALLY good is: COMODO. One problem with it though, is that you first have to allow it to go through your entire hard drive. Windows will pop-up constantly, asking you whether on not you trust what you've opened, until it runs through your entire system. Once you've made all your decisions, all files etc. will be protected. Mind you, if you happen to have a large hard drive, this will take quite a while until it comletes itself. It can get monotonous & annoying...but it definitely is an excellent antivirus. My best choice is....go with the AVG. You'll love it. commanderxo
