What is your attitude to such kinds of movies? why are they so great for some, and so disturbing for others? for me, the scarier the movie, and the darker the room i am watching it in, the more likely i will stay pleased with it.

Well, a woman on my own taste, finally :) I'm also a horror fan. Can you share few titles that you liked, lately? I've enjoyed The Ruins, Pathology and i have a long waiting list of movies to be seen.

Yeah, you are my soulmate :P I like horror movies a lot, but it's so hard for now to remember the ones that were really good, because professional ones are made so rarely. The last one i watched was "House of thousand corpses", made by Rob Zombie. I actually decided to watch it because of the film director, and knowing the music he makes the film appeared to be what i expected. so if you haven't seen it, than do it as fast as you can! :) and i am currently looking to watch pathology too. Have read some reviews that made me interested in it. thanks for reminding about the movie.

Pathology was freaking amazing! After waiting for the damned thing for two years, I was not disappointed, in the slightest.

Hi friends... I really like watching horror spoofs in theatres. We all know, most of the movies are made today in Hollywood is either a horror one or based on a comics character. But, I really don't like the kind of horror flicks are made today. Most of them are bloody dirty and messy ones. They lack horror and have more dirty scenes. Waiting for some really spine chillers.

Oh, i understand you so much. as i have written before, it is so hard now to find horror movies of a good quality, and most of them have cheap movie effects, that would rather put a smile on my face. and the plots also seem to be the same, so the endings of the scenes are predictable. thank you for bringing up this idea

scary pumpkin - This is a scary pumpkin denoting the Halloween holiday.
I have always enjoyed horror movies. I really like those spooky things. The kind of movie that keep you glued to the television and keep you on the edge of your seat. I enjoy other types of movies, also like some comedies. But all in all the spooky horror flicks are most enjoyable to me, for instance Halloween!

lol I hate the horror movies... well, I like the silly, funny ones... like the musical about vampires by Polanski (I think) - my sister was so scared but the whole thing just made me laugh.. (Maybe I'd be more scared if my sister wasn't so scared - I actually get braver if someone else is more scared than me!:)) Or the Killer Klowns from Space - so funny!! I think it probably depends if you 'empathize' with movie people a lot, or take things 'as real' - I often do. If you just take it 'as a silly movie', you can probably easily watch the whole thing.. (My Grandma loves gory movies & series OoO) there's something about adrenaline release in our blood or something like that... that makes some people enjoy 'horror' movies.. Maybe it also depends on how many times you had to walk alone in a dark deserted forest, or if you live in an attic where things go 'bang' in the night... or how big an imagination you have... :) /I easily scare myself without the movie lol so movies are quite unnecessary for that :) well, I may enjoy some horror/gothic comedy, preferably a book or so.. as long as things don't screech too much in the night... OoO/

Thanks for the sincere and opened answer! As you are saying, everything depends on the mood we set while watching movies. it also happens to me sometimes that the movie seems to be serious and scary, but it just doesn't feel real to me. or when my neighbor is screaming every time something terrible happens, that makes me laugh even more, lol! when i was watching Grunge, that's how it happened, though if i would have watched it by myself, i probably wouldn't be able even to watch it till the end.

No, frankly speaking I do not like horror movies, I do not feel comfortable watching a horror movie, so I prefer not seeing it. I believe, it effects our mind in a negative manner and we do not get anything positive out of it, so I avoid this kind of movies.

i started off not liking them. As a kid, i was never into horror. but when they started to make more psychological horrors, it was more interesting, ie. not just blood and gore, but actually different things that make it scary

You are contradictory...i guess your boyfriend likes to watch horror movies more ))) my another guess would be that no matter what kind of movie you watch, as long as there's someone near you (especially beloved one), the movie will be good.

I am on a quest to find a scary movie that actually scares me So far, no dice. I have seen some really great ones though. I really like the ones where the scary thing turns out to be a scary thing in the end, rather than some maniac, hell-bent on revenge, terrorizing campers. I love it when you get to the end of the movie and the ghost really was a ghost.
