where/who do you go to for advice?

i call the Holy Spirit. HE is the only one i trust and HE helps me through things. but if i need mortal advice...i noticed many people in internet forums have given good advice to help others. i have also contributed to giving others good advice that actually helped them. so, many strangers are helping one another on the internet to live better and happier lives.

Hello, floridachick. When I need advice, I will usually talk to myself. I don't like to ask for advices from my friends, they are all teenagers, and they will either laugh at my problems or just give wrong advices. I'm mature enough to know which advices should I follow. I am not going to ask my mother, either. Sometimes you feel like you aren't in the right place, you aren't with the right person... I wouldn't tell this to my girlfriend. I can't say: "Hey, I feel you are not the person for me, but I love you". No, I just ask myself what is the source of problem. I usually find it and am able to solve it. Otherwise, I'll keep on trying. This way, I can avoid bothering others with my problems. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

My husband and I usually go to eachother for advice, because although we have a lot in common, we have different points of view on certain issues, and will know how tohelp eachother figure out what we need to figure out. If I want advice from a larger crowd, I'll go on the internet and find it.

I am soon to be 42 years old and in my lifetime I have learned that while it is nice to have someone to talk to.. beprepared that if you want to keep a secret, keep it to yourself! Advise is nice, but there are very few people in life that can be trusted with sensitive information that could effect your life. Perhaps chatting annonomously online is the one way I think you might get honest unbiased opinions and your secret is safe.l If you think about it.. most friends and family will tell you what you want to hear or what also effects them in a positive way. When you are in a disagreement, they spill the beans or hold things against you. Online,, people just say what they honestly think more so.

when am depressed,i always have the habit of writing letter for myself..that would smoothen ma feelings and help me very much to get along with ma life

Honestly, I dont talk to anyone... well sometimes i talk to my gal friend... she is the one person who means the whole world to me... it not that i dont wanna tell anyone... its just that i fear of it gonna be a big waste telling that person.... i take a long time to trust someone. i feel the first thing anyone should do is talk to yourself... ask others just for a second opinion to help you decide... dont let others decide for you. what say?

If I need advice about anything, I talk to my husband. He is extremely level headed and logical. If I have an issue with my husband, I talk to one friend. This one friend, who is very close, is now in the hospital so my focus is on her getting well. I have other friends but only trust one to chat with as far as something concerning me at home. I can also turn to co-workers about silly things that concern me but won't go into details. Sometimes co-workers have way too much fun gossiping..lol

I also got some good advices here in mylot but aside from mylot I go to my estfriends and have some talk to them. I never had any decisions made without confiding on them cause I never had wrong decisions when I consulted them. I also talk to my relatives sometime but it depends on what problem I am with not unlike with my friends that i can confide to them almost everything.

I usually post on mylot when looking for advice. I think mylot is a great place to get advice from, as you get so many different views and opinions from so many different ranges of people. I also go to my boyfriend as he and I have a pact to always be honest with each other and express our opinions openly. I dont have a relationship with my dad, so I wont be going to him! lol
