Do you have a GPS for your car?

Ours is a Garmin nuvi and I love it! I can't get over how great this Global Positioning System works. It's amazing. I knew it was good when we took a trip to Atlanta in May and rented a car. Using our GPS, we found our way all over Atlanta, from one side of the city to the other, without getting lost! What an invention! Do you have a GPS? If so, what do you think of it? If you don't have one, do you want one? Do you think you would use one?

My husband's company told them to each get one last year. We use it on his off days also. We love it too! Ours is a Garmin also. It certainly makes getting around in a new towns easier. Although sometimes it will get mixed up. Or we've noticed it anyway. My husband says you still have to use common sense even when the machine is driving for you..lol.

Ours hasn't done it much, and it recalculates also. It's mainly that my husband knows a better way from driving it before the GPS. He won't use little streets with lots of lights if he can help it, even if the GPS says to..lol.

We have a garmin Nuvi too! I think its a 350 or something like that. We love it. We went to visi my best friend in North carolina in July. It got us down there with no problems. And while she was at work we were able to go out and get groceries and run some other errands without getting lost. It was wrong once but that was because our maps need updated. one of the exits had moved and it came down a different way. But the GPS quickly recalculated and had us on the right road. We were joking though that her voice would start to sound mad when she said recalculating because we kept taking a different way and making her recalculate lol.

Hi ravinskye. Well, it seems that your Garmin Nuvi got you where you needed to go in North Carolina. I have such a feeling of freedom with the GPS in the car. I don't ever worry about getting lost. Oh, I know what you mean about the "recalculating" efforts of the GPS. Her voice is just so robotlike, or something. My favorite is when she says, "Turn left and then turn right". You KNOW it's messed up then. It doesn't say street names when it does that. I always assume it wants me to make a uturn when it says that. Thanks, ravinskye for your reply. And by the way, congrats on your huge number of myLot posts. Wow!

DH has a Tom Tom. He really wanted it back in the beginning of December because he had to take a business trip. I'm such a stinker, while he was out of town, I bought it for him for Christmas. I like it the couple of times I have used it. We didn't go on vacation this year, so DH didn't really get to play with it. Maybe next year. I'm going to love it them because I won't have to be co-pilot!

Yes, he is very hard to shop for but this year I got lucky. I have been to Ft. Meyers back in the 1980's. My company was moving a part of the business there because the owner wanted to move there. I went down to train my replacement. I worked a lot of hours so I didn't even get to see the beach. I really regret that.

That's cool that you got your husband a gift he really wanted. We keep saying we are going to take a bunch of "day trips" out and about in FL and use the GPS to get around. We did take a trip or 2 over to Ft. Myers shopping for lighting for our newly remodeled kitchen. And the Garmin Nuvi came in very handy then. I love feeling like I don't ever have to worry about getting lost again in an unfamiliar town/city.

I don't have a car and I don't even know how to drive. However, if I ever have a car I would definitely make sure I have that GPS device in it. It's just that I love convenience and getting lost seems no fun for me. I think it's more convenient and safe that I don't have to read the map, I could be really directionless sometimes.

If you don't own a car, you are lucky as the price of gas is off the charts these days. The GPS is great because I can just drive to any town and find my way as long as I've got street addresses to the places I want to go. Getting lost can be fun, but in the U.S., it can be dangerous to get lost in certain neighborhoods. At least, with a GPS, I could find my way out. It must be wonderful to not have to worry about your safety in the event you get lost. Thanks and take care.

Hello jillhill. I don't keep the GPS in either vehicle unless we are going to be driving out of town. Then, it is just so handy. Shopping, restaurants, whatever. You never, ever have to worry about getting lost. It's a very freeing experience, at least for me. Hope you get to experiment with one someday. They are fantastic. Yes, if you wait until you are lost to get one, that might be a little late. :

Yes, I have garmin nuvi 2445lmt in my car. It's really helped me a lot when i had a tour to UK. I have followed the road map in the Sat Nav products, when i face any new location while traveling. It also helped me on traffic alert and highlights the new routes to reach my destination. It has several advantages and disadvantages that i have gone through here
Our Garmin Nuvi 2445LMT Review will help you decide if it's the right product for you. Many people find it difficult to choose the right product but here we can help.
