OMG, my connection has been having problems again. Since last night it was very unstable. The past 2 days have been a nightmare for me. My connection has been totally down. I called for technical support and they came after 2 days of following up. They said it was resolved yesterday when they went here. But last night, I called them again asking for technical support. It's really getting on my nerves. What a waste of time. The crew went here and didn't check any possible things that may have caused this problems. They just made some adjustments here in my pc but never care to check my outdoor modem. I am using a broadband right now. And since I've asked for my connection to be checked again, until now, haven't had a call for confirmation. I've been paying the right amount of money for this and this is what I'll get. How about you guys, ever experienced like this? Do you think what you're paying for your internet connection is worth it? I really want to change my provider but unfortunately, this broadband that I am using is the only available here in my place. P.S. It took me an hour to post this. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Good day dhang's let me guess your using smart bro? if yes there is also a new alternative name for it Smart-broken.. Yah it's true but if not I stand to be corrected. I've been hearing lots of complain in our local forums and smart bro currently ranked first in all of it. I just hope they can fix it and fix it good. God bless.

Well my friend, you guessed it right. I've been using this for about 9 months now. And this is the first time that this happened to me (being disconnected for days). My connection has been unstable for 3 weeks now. I just do hope they fix it good. I heard complains also from other smartbro users.

yeah my connection here also fluctuates maybe because of the weather. sometimes when we don't have an internet connection for a month, our service provider makes an offset on the following month. but the thing is even they are doing offsetting, still i can't use the internet for almost a month lol

Well we have been using this smartbroadband connection for almost two years now and I admit with its first three months we experienced lots of difficulty, intermittent, and slow connection but after the the service become more faster and reliable. I think all of this internet connection especially with broadband, the location is a big factor whether you can get a good and pretty fast connection. Whether there are cell sites near your place it will really affect your connection.

This kind of intermittent and slow connection are expected to be experienced in broadband connection cause it will never get a stable frequency unlike the dsl connection.

I've been using Smartbro for about 9 months now. Since they've installed it my connection status is slow to ok. There were times that it has better connection. Until 3 weeks ago, I've noticed that my connection is really unstable so I observed first. Until last week when my connection got disconnected. I could open even my YM. I called for technical support they went here after 2 days since the day that I reported the problem. They didn't even manage to check my antenna if it is mis alligne or what is really causing the problem. They just opened a site here in my laptop and did some test and told me that it was resolved. After 1 hour of having stable connection, it goes back again to the same problem. So I called again, they didn't came yesterday, so I followed up and told me that they will relay the report. If they won't fix this problem today, I guess I will be filing a complaint and may take some legal actions against them for poor service. Thanks for the response.

Hi friend, I don't mind the slow connection. Mine is different. My connection has been on and off for 3 days now. What really gets me mad is I haven't talked and seen my husband since this happened. He is working abroad and the only relaxation for him is talking with me and the kids over at Skype. If this doesn't gets fixed today, I think I'll take some actions for not doing their job. HUGZ to you my friend.

What type of connection do you have? Or I mean, which internet service provider did you choose? Is it SmartBro or Globe? I have SmartBro and for the first 2 months I've had the same problem. The main problem would probably the line of sight of your antenna and theirs. When it rains the connection even gets worse. I hope they would be able to fix it soon. My connection was working fine for 7 months steadily. But not until now because it rains so hard often.

Hi selece. I've been using Smartbro for 9 months now. Even when it rains so hard before, my connection just slows down but last week it was really disconnected. I have no signal at all. It will reconnect for about 5 minutes then it will be gone for about an hour. I called for tech support and they said that they will have someone check my antenna. It wasn't even raining last Wednesday night when I first got disconnected. Hope this gets fixed soon and I will file a complaint for poor/lack of service. I've been paying the right amount and they won't do their job.

You're right they should do something about it. Since it is not a direct line, it's quite hard to get stable connection from smartBro. I tend to exceed the maximum sometimes but sometimes it's as slow as dial-up. LoL. Anyway, hope it gets fixed soon. I too have had problems recently, my connection goes on and off. I'm pretty sure it's because of the rain and the rough winds.

outside modem? hmmm let me guess you're using SMART bro(one of the isp for the Philippines) wireless right? well that really is the problem when using wireless modem. for the past 2 days it's been raining hard. it's very possible that it has something to do with that. by the way i will be working for Smart bro 2 weeks from now. what a coincidence if you will be calling and complaining and you didn't realize it was me. lol. good luck to your connection. have a good day:)

Hello! That sucks, doesn't it? I happens to me aswell, sometimes. There were times when my Internet was on for like five minutes, and then it got down for half an hour. Then you had to reset the modem, perhaps even reset the computer, and turn it on again. Then it would stay for something near five minutes before going off again. I called for support, and they took over three days to get it solved. It happens, it happens. But soon it will be back again, working fine, I'm sure about that. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

This is what's happening to my connection right now. I have to restart and unplug the connection plug from time to time in order to have an internet connection. I haven't talked to my husband for 3 days now, and that's what's getting on my nerves. Hope this gets fixed as soon as possible. Wish me luck!

Are you using Smart Bro? That's what we're using and we don't have internet yesterday. We always have connection problems, sometimes it's just slow and sometimes it's totall down. After all this time, I can say that it's quite normal already. Whenever this happens, I'll just ask my brother, "Kuya, we don't have internet?" Then he'll check on his computer and verifies that it's really down, then we'll proceed to doing something else that doesn't require internet connection like watching anime, or playing games, or maybe watch tv, or play with our niece. It has become quite a routine. hehe. So, don't get so hyped up over it. I've been. But I realized, it's an opportunity to do something else for a change. But to tell the truth, I don't think it's fair because we pay the exact amount every time.

I know how you really feel now and I feel so sorry for it. I guess you can also do some legal actions against your provider. These providers, if their subscribers failed to pay their dues, send legal notices. I heard about it through my sister that failed to pay their dues because of some difficulties in the schooling of my brother. I think we can also do the same against them if they fail to give the subscriber better service. (star 91 @ 1414)

Thanks tamara. I will give them until today for this problem to be resolved. If they won't do their job I will be filing a complain tomorrow and maybe do some legal actions against them. I won't let them go away with this, I've been paying the right amount monthly.

Hi dhangski, WOw, I can feel what you are going through..I experienced that back in our Country and I have to call and call for technical services and those time I was irritated by their common and memorized answered! hmm... smartbro right now are allied with PLDT myDSL right... now the problem with DSL is it always lose connection and even smartbro.. but what i want to say is it's not the weather we are talking about it's all about the connection of your net.. well i might say that dhangski have a problem on her anthena you know why? cause the anthena receive signal came from the base station and if the anthena receive's low signal the net became lag and sometimes Disconnection.. when i say ask the technician about it.. they say it's not the connection.. it's the base station and the position of your anthena just like a Television if your anthena had receive's bad signal the vision of you television set will be blur and particle.. i hope Dhangski problem already solve..

Hi dhangski! Well, Smartbro does have a lot of issues as well as other ISPs. But it is more susceptible as the antenna is exposed to weather conditions. Especially now that it's raining a lot and we have a low pressure area. Most probably the techs told you that you have a weak signal coming from their base station. It could very well be that the base station is having problems or is already crowded. They somehow fixed my connection when they changed the base station. It was stable for a couple of days and slowly went bad again. How long have you had your smartbro? I got past the lock-in period of 1 year. It really wasn't consistent at 384kbps. It averages 250+ kbps. As for a rebate as well and take note of the case numbers when you call tech support. You should not pay for it if it's acting up pretty bad.

Thanks for the response. That's the problem, the tech support didn't tell me anything but "it is resolved". They didn't even checked my antenna. They just went infront of my laptop and did something. After they left, my connection was ok for one hour then back to it's problem again. I called the helpdesk again, no one went here yesterday so I called again last night and told me that the report will be filed. I've been using this Smartbro for about 9 months now and so far this is the first time to call for support and was annoyed for their poor service.

My internet provider has been having loads of problems again in the past few days and it is really annoying. It has interfered with me connecting to the internet a lot. We can change our provider, that is not a problem but it is just that we have to change all the email addresses on everything and that is just a huge pain!

well smartbro can't do anything nor you call a million times.. they will actually give u report no. then when you call up.. another report no. what make sense right? if they wanted to exploit their net service well i am not judging them but.. they are just make promises.. helpdesk? tech support? blah!! all they have to say is.. ipconfig /all then you will give them your physical address.. whew.. i've done that a thousand times.. the main problem for their broadband is their main base station..

hey im using the same provider, its the rain. i used to work in a telco too and we get tons of reports esp during typhoon season. do you use wireless? i think wire less is somewhat better. customer service isnt much help but we dont have choice really but wait till it get resolved. good thing you live in the city, i have to call long distance when i had problem in my connection, they dont have toll free numbers for tech support, when i ask the agent to call me coz he had to put me on hold he said they are not allowed to make an outgoing call-goodness my phone bill was sky high at that time. still theres nothing else to choose from in my place :(

speaking of rainy days.. im a smartbro user and when it rains at my place or our neighborhood my internet connection is still stable.. so how do you explain that kind of circumstances if nor rain can lose the bandwidth of your net problems.. i say it's the base station who's making all disconnection..

This is the first time that this kind of situation happened to me. Even when it storms before, my connection is still stable. I asked for a technical support again minutes ago. This is my 3rd time to call them. First was July 31 second was last night at around 6 pm then today at around 5:30. I hope this gets fixed tomorrow or else I'll take legal actions against them.
