can you love one of your child more than the other?

I love all three of mine equally but for different reasons.....they each have a special part of their charater that endears them to me.....my oldest is the one who is needy but that's okay....my middle one is very independent but when she falls she comes to me.....and my son is the baby. He insists that I love him more.....but I don't. I just love them for different reasons!

I think a mother's love is multiplied equally among her children...but that doesn't mean a mother loves all of her children in the same way. Each child is a unique person with his or her own personality, it would not be fair to love them all the "same". I know I love each of my children differently and I have no problem admitting that because I believe that's the way it should be. If I loved them each the same despite their differences i would be doing them all a great diservice which isn't very loving at all. Think of it in terms of having a very obedient child and a very disobedient child. A mother will love them both regardless but she may be harsher with the disobedient child and more lenient with the obedient child. Either way she is showing great love though....the disobedient child needs tough love to become better and the mother is expressing her love by following through with it no matter how mad the child gets with her. She is showing her love to the obedient child by giving trust and freedom. If she expressed her love equally, one or both would actually be short changed and the mother would not be doing her job.

i dont have kids.. but sometimes kids are spoilt .. sometimes you get the "daddy lil girl " and "mummys boy " .. also sometimes when you got older kids and just one litlle kid- the little one gets favoured
