Making comments, why they don't count it?

I have seen many discussions on mylot which have some comments which are really more detailed then the actual answer. I just wonder why they don't count your comment even if it is long and detailed.
Does anyone know if we are being paid for making good comments on mylot? Or only starting discussions and responses?

Ur post count doesn't get increased when you comment back to the people's responses on your own discussion or comment back on ur own response. However, ur post count does increase when you add a comment to a response posted by someone else on a discussion started by someone else. I hope you get me.
For instance, if you write a response to someone's discussion and then comment back on your own response, your post count doesn't gets increase. However, if you comment on response posted by someone else in the same discussion, ur post count will increase.
But surely you get paid for each and every comment irrespective ur post count gets increased or not.anyhow, I have been regularly facing issues with my post count getting decreased due to discussions getting deleted. We don't get paid in the same amount for posting a comment as for starting a new discussion or posting a response but we surely get some pennies out of it.
I think, starting a new discussion fetches a larger earning and posting a comment the least.

I am under the impression that we do get paid for our comments, although they don't count towards our post count. There have been days where I only came in for a few minutes, didn't find any discussions I wanted to post to, so I replied to a few people in comments from my discussions. The day after, I found that my pay had raised a cent or two. So I do believe that we get paid for our comments as well.

I think that we're paid about a tenth of a cent or something. I know that I got extra money the one day I went through all my myLot emails and commented and marked best responses. It was only about $0.03, but it was something. I posted about 40 comments because I had about 300 emails.

Comments don't add to your post count, so they don't count in that way, but that doesn't mean they don't add to your earnings. They will add something to the value of the discussion and you get paid for starting quality discussions. Your earnings are not just based on the number of posts you make.
If you wrote the same number of responses every day and you started the same number of discussions every day, your earnings would be still be different each day, depending on the quality of all your posts and comments and how many people responded to your discussion and all the other ways you participate at myLot.
There is no way of knowing how our earnings are worked out, so you should not stop doing something because you don't know if it contributes to your earnings or not.

YeS we are also paid for our comments also.
You can check this by posting only comments to the discussions. you will find that you also gets money for the comments.
But we are unknown about this because the number near our username is not increasing.

The following details are not getting counted:
1. Comment to responses that you have started
2. Answering someone in a response where the response is made by you.
