How does God help us?

Some people try to depend on God for everything. No matter how small or how large they want God to either give it to them or do things for them. That just isn't the way God will help us. Since the death of Jesus God can teach each of us how to do things for ourselves. If its something you cannot do then ask God to do it for you but if it's something you can do for yourself then ask God to teach you how to do it for yourself. Jesus basically told us that we should be able to do anything He did. In fact he said some would do a lot more than he did because his time was limited. If God teaches you how to do something for yourself then you can use it the rest of your life and not be asking God to do it for you over and over. Jesus was the best example of this that I can give you. That 40 days Jesus was in the wilderness he was in school. God took Him off to His self like that so he wouldn't be distracted by every day life like we are. Maybe we need some time alone with God.

Well that's really something :) Well am happy for you, but I have only one question.. Maybe this is a strange question, but when you say God personally told you, do you mean in a dream, or rather a vision or something like that ? But besides that I'm happy for you that you have such things in life:) and thanks for answerring and willing to explain it :)

NrgDfenz, Please don't misunderstand me. I'm not bragging about my relationship with God. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you are anyone else can have much more than I do if you can just obtain the information that will guide you there. If we can come to God with an honest heart truly desiring His help He will help us to understand His real truth. Gods real truth is the only thing that will ever get us where we need to go. If God can give some preacher information to teach is flock then God can give that same information directly to you. Its all about honesty. You cannot con God out of anything. It is what you think within your mind that God looks at not the words you speak. You can lie to God or anyone else with your words but you can't with your thoughts. The strongest prayer you will ever pray is within your thoughts. God is always 100% honest with us and he expects the same from us. You always know the real truth about your true feelings in your thoughts. Your personal relationship with God should be kept between you and Him. It's no one else business. Once God Anoints you then man's teaching of you is finished. Also Remember God can get through to you and teach you His truth even before you are Anointed. He can help guide you to a position where He can Anoint you. Here again Jesus is our example of this. Jesus was Not Anointed with the Holy Spirit until the day he was Baptized yet you can be sure God taught Him a lot before that day.

I think that depend how religious you are.I think GOD always help us if we help our self that my point of view,I think GOD will not help us if you just pray and do nothing. You must pray and do things then i think GOD will help us.I am not really religious but i know what to do so that we can get what we want,it not just we pray all the time and do nothing then GOD will cannot help us if we dont help our self.

I agree with you. Most often instead of God just doing something for you He will teach you how to do it for yourself. Remember every thought you have, every word you speak and every move your body makes is always totally controlled by your human brain. Most often what you think, say and do is determined by where your information came from. If the information came from God you will be fine but if it came from any other source you may not. Know this, doing for ourselves is fine and the way it should be but only if we are relying on God to guide us. Doing things for ourselves without God's help is what has put us in the mess we are in now.

who is god? where does he live ?i think that god is ourselves, and he lives in our heart.he encourages us to work harder when we failed and ,congratulates on our success.he doesn't teach us to do anythings, but he could help us to find out the things that had been in our heart.

Jake, If you are correct then the Bible is all a lye. You say God doesn't teach us anything and then you say He encourages us and congratulates us. Wouldn't you think that would be a form of teaching? No man can tell you "Who God is, Where He is or how He got there". One day we will know the answer to that question plus a lot more but not as long as we have two feet planted on this earth.

I agree with you on the point you made that God will not just give us what we ask for. First of all we need to make sure that when we pray and ask God for something that we are very specific with our request. For instance we should not just pray and say God I need a car. We need to be specific with our request as in, "God I need a car and I would like a blue Ford pick up with automatic transmission and in really good condition." Secondly, you are right in stating that God will not just plop that pick up truck in our laps. He will lead in the direction we need to go to obtain that pick up truck but the work must be done by us. We cannot expect to just sit around the house and wait for someone to drive the pick up into our driveway for us. Then once we get the pick up and get it financed it is our job to make sure the payments are made regularly every month. Also, you are correct that during our trials and tribulations God is using that time for some one on one teaching and training for us. Not that this time is always something we like to go through but in the end we will benefit from this time.

Everything God has ever done has been for man's benefit one way or the other. Very often we don't understand God's reason for doing something and then we think he was wrong. It would help if we were in a position where God could explain to us why he did or didn't do something. Also very often we accuse God of doing something and He wasn't the one that did it. If you don't know by now that God works for your benefit then you need to get serious about your relationship with Him. We also need to try to do everything we do in a way that God will be pleased with us. Then if we ask him for something we really need the odds are real good we will get it from somewhere. Like you suggest God may have to point us in the right direction and it will be up to us to go get it but we will have it.

Hey guys I am not an atheist, still I believe that god never comes to solve our problems. It is why we seek gods help is to lend us ways to reach to the solution. I believe that its we who create problems for ourselves, god never creates problems for us.

God helps us in different ways. It's hard to say how He helps us. He has helped me through so much, just by putting certain people in my life and sending things I need my way at the right time. He has strengthened my faith through all the hardships and trials I go through in life.

God helps us in His own mysterious ways. We may not understand at first glance why he is not helping us but in time He will work at His best and for our own good. He has always his own perfect time for a perfect blessings. And if what we pray will not come on at our expected time, then maybe, He has enstored something great for us in His perfect time. All we need is to believe and have faith. We always have to because God knows best.

I have seen a lot in my life that has shown me there is definitely a God and I have owed much of my success and lessons about life to all the help I receive from him every single day. I do agree with you that we should try to do whatever we can both as people and christians. God is there for us either way though. He is there even if we don't need him. He knows what we can or cannot do and as any loving father would do for his own children, he is there to help if we need it or not. He will let us manage through our trials and disappointments on our own if he sees that it is absolutely necessary for his plan for our lives. This is how we "learn" about life, our world, about surviving and learning to be the kind of children we are all meant to be... even those who are lost and don't believe. ::smiles::

Well I don't think God teaches us something :) I don't believe in God.. All his opinions right ? I think God is just an illusion to fool people who need to be lead by powerfull people... But hey who am I ? I don't know if God exists or not :) For me he doesn't :) You need to decide for your own if he exists or nor :)

Don't feel like you are alone. Very few people that call themselves Christians actually know beyond any doubt that God truly is real. I know it beyond any doubt for the simple reason he has proven it to me more than once. I base my faith on fact not just what I believe to be true. I say you have every right to feel as you do. After all there are supposed to be people that can show you God's power and prove to you He is as real as you are.

Hey, yes i do think we all need time alone with God because it is him that gives us strength to do everything. But i also think that we should take everything to him wether its big or small. He said to cast all your cares upon him. But i do agree that God does give us a brain and we should use it.
