do you make a bunch of little dishes, then mix it together?

do you make a bunch of little dishes and then mix it all together to make one big dish? in my family we call it goulash, you can make it a bunch of different ways but i make it with noodles, tomatoes, ground beef, and onions. today I made noodles with cheese and broccoli and sausage.

I make a lot of things like goulash and casseroles. When I do cheese broccoli and sausage I do it with rice and put it in a casserole dish and bake it. We used to have it and goulash a lot growing up. How you make yours sounds about how we had it.

My mother used to do similar things, and you can bet my Hungarian sep-mother does this all he time. I think Goulash is a Hungarian word. Now you've got me in the mood for Barb's Hungarian goulash.
