Europe has many small countries each with a different flavor. I love the historic architecture, the pretty coastline and the scenic mountains. I enjoy finding out about the culture, the history and hearing foreign languages. My favorite country is Croatia because it is beautiful with its lovely islands and historic buildings. I adored my time in World Heritage listed Dubrovnik. Which country is your favorite in Europe? Why? If you haven't been there before where would you like to go? Why?

Well maximax8 , I have always been obsessed by Italy since I was a boy . The landscapes , the history , the culture and the Italian people - you must admit each of them is among the best in the world . It is a country which has rich history of great Europian civilization and modern technological advancement blended perfectly with each other . I wish I had a chance to see Italy .

Yes sodraja, I think Italy has such an interesting history and beautiful buildings. I would love to go back to Italy for another visit. My son is fascinated by history, in particular the Romans. He would love if it I took him to Rome. I hope that you go to Italy. Don't worry about posting twice due to a technical error. That has happened to me and I also replied to an old discussion a second time by mistake. Happy traveling and best wishes.

I love Europe because there is so much diversity in one relatively small area. It is very hard to choose, but I think for me it is Italy. I loved seeing ancient artifacts alongside modern buildings, I loved little sunken gardens, narrow streets and fascinating architecture. There is something romantic and appealing about the disorganisation of the place. In Australia, the most ancient building is only 200 years old or thereabouts, so it is very different. I'd love to visit Europe again ... ALL of Europe :)

I really like your description of Europe and think that you capture the essence of Italy in a lovely way. Venice is unique and a very special place that is especially romantic. There are so many historic buildings, charming streets and friendly people so Italy is a delightful country to visit. The Italian language sounds beautiful. I hope that you come to Europe again and see many more places. I love Australia for its amazing landscapes and unique wildlife.

I always have itchy feet! I love traveling so very much. It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Venice. In touristy spots drink prices can be horrendous. On my first trip to Australia I went to New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory. On my second trip I went to Western Australia. I wish you happy traveling to all the places that you would like to go to.

Interesting that you mention Venice - it is my favourite city. I remember getting up very early and walking in St Marks Square before the tourists woke up. I loved getting lost in back alleyways with tiny bridges across narrow canals. It was so beautiful and special. That was a long time ago, and I was only a kid ... I remember my Dad being horrified because they charged $1 for a Coke ... that was very expensive back then. As far as Australia goes, I still have a lot of it to see myself! I've seen most of the east, half of the south and some of the inland, but I'd love to visit the top end and Western Australia. You are giving me very itchy feet. I want to travel again right now ... lol.

my favourite country in Europe is switzerland. I went to brig once to ski and I just loved the mountain resort feel. we had kirche fondues and i recall tromping in the snow and going back to a warm room. it also had nice memories for me because it was the first time i learnt to ski and had such a fun time on the bunny slopes. i also like switzerland cos it's clean. and I went to a few other cities with my parents when they came for my graduation ceremony. the mountains are so majestic and such a testimony to God's creation. the air is so fresh and things work so efficiently there. the souvenirs were lovely too. I still have a little doll that I can wind up and its head rotates and edelweiss is played.

I like the sound of your doll that plays edelweiss. I collect costume dolls from around the world and have a lovely one from Switzerland. Switzerland is a stunningly beautiful country and everything there is of very high quality. It has some really scenic train journeys. I haven't yet learned how to ski. I am glad that you had an enjoyable and memorable time there.

My favorite would be Ireland as that is where many of my ancestors lived before coming to America. I have never been there, but would some day like to visit.

It would be the Germany. I like it because it is peaceful and well organize. I like to go back there. The only problem there is that it is very expensive to live there. Especially in Stuttgart.

Bavaria is my favorite region of Germany and I rushed there before I would be too old to stay in one of their youth hostels. I used to study in the Netherlands and I would come over to Germany on the weekend wonder ticket. I like the architecture, the mountains, the old castles and the organized atmosphere. Yes, it is expensive there now.

I hope that you will go to Paris one day. I have been there a couple of times. Going down the River Seine it is lovely to get a view of the Notre Dame. Seeing the Eiffel Tower is a special moment. London and Paris have a train between them so you could see your relatives in England Tutul and then pop over to Paris. Have a lovely day.

I have not yet been to Croatia and I would very much like to go and see Dubrovnik. I think my favourite country in Europe is... Ireland! Not so exotic as I live in the UK but some of my family are Irish and I really feel at home with the culture and people, and I like the scenery and history there also.

I think that the countryside of Ireland and the old cottages are beautiful. The Irish people are so friendly and I studied with many of them when I was doing my degree in Wales. I don't like the cool rainy weather though. I prefer to spend time in warm sunny places. I hope that you will go to Dubrovnik one day, a stunning gem in the Adriatic Sea.

Hello Greenline. I am very well, thank you. I hope that things are going well for you. I think Switzerland is really beautiful with its stunning mountains and historic looking cities. I enjoyed seeing Zurich but I found it expensive. I have been to Austria a few times. Salzburg is one of my favorite cities, it has a stunning setting and an old castle that I saw in the snow the first time I was there. Have a wonderful day my friend. Happy traveling.

Art , culture , education , sports - in every sphere of life Italians have made a mark of their own . Italian people are crazy and that's why I like them . I wish I could be as crazy as the Italians are . I like the Italian food as well . Waiting for a chance to see Italy someday .

Last year I had the pleasure of visiting England and Rome. Its really hard to choose which one of the two places so far is my favorite. England was modern but had lots of historic architecture which I adore. I have hundreds of pictures of carvings at the top of buildings and full buildings in general. However, I have to say that Rome was just awesome in every corner you turned. Nothing was modern there. We walked the whole city in 2 days and visited the vatican. What an awesome city that was. It was aways one of my life long dreams to go to Rome and it finally came true. It was not a disapointment at all. I would defenately go back but before I do, I plan on visiting other countries in Europe first. I would like to see the world and learn the history and culture of everywhere.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed visiting England and Italy. It is wonderful that you had one of your life long dreams come true. My older son is fascinated by history and would love to go to Rome. I think I would enjoy seeing the historic buildings and hearing the Italian language. I hope that you come back to Europe one day to see more countries and to other places in the world that have an interesting culture.
