Natural Cosmetics & Skin Care Products (Try homemade instead)

I've just started making my own cosmetic products. The reason behind this is that everytime I pick up a bottle that advertises itself as natural, I find it full of SLS and petro chemicals. Frustrated I keep looking but find this is the same with most products. I stumbled across some info regarding these products and found that in the UK we only have to have a minimum of 1% natural ingredients to call it "natural". I believe it should be the other way around 99% Natural by law! I think that it is a mis-representation of the product to call it natural with only 1% natural ingredients and 99% chemical! Anyway to get over some of the hurdles I now make cleanser with green & red tea, I general add rosmary or tea tree as I simmer these, along with a little garlic. I then add a touch of witchhazel. refrigerate and either decant a small amount to use daily or use direct from the fridge. If you have a blender, facemasks are brill and are so easy (and much better than lush). Lettuce is a great base for a facemask, add some olive oil, turmeric, garlic, honey etc, whizz with a few tablespoons of corn flour to thicken. This blend give a great smoothing and plumping effect that lasts for several days rather than hours. You can freeze portions to use at a later date! I also tried a cherry & ginger with a little lime juice, this was great but the cherry flesh does turn brown when left to air. If you can't be bothered with all of this try Weleda for great natural skin care. Also if anyone has any ideas or recipies it would be great to hear them. My next mission is a shampoo without SLS!

I am thinking about going natural these days too because it seems that everything we use, they have quite a ton of chemicals in it and I decide to make my own things from time to time to cut down on the chemicals. I have been collecting different natural recipes here and I think they might be interesting to you, it's here: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_facileforms&Itemid=&ff_name=ReviewList&ff_param_section=8&ff_param_cat=46&ff_param_limit=10&ff_param_order=SubmissionDateNew
