Watching the opening ceremony now on TV. The efforts that they put into hosting the Olympics is really something that you have to admire. 10 months of training. Years of sweat and toil to get the stadium up and running. The amount of technology to make the show possible. And not to mention, the sheer number of people involved. I am sure the logistics are a nightmare to manage. Yet they managed to do it. They put up a really beautiful show. With lots of light works, fireworks and lively performances, it is really a sight to behold! Congratulations China!! For pulling off one of the best show in this century! Half way through the show now! Looking forward to more performances!

Well, the opening was really interesting. All that visual simulation from the lights, costumes and performances. And the spectacular fireworks. And sitting at home on my couch, I get to admire the full aerial view of the fireworks. It is really beautiful!

It is fireworks leh. What is there not to like about fireworks? People all over the world love to see fireworks! And this time round, the amount of fireworks shot is really a lot! I wonder how much they spend on fireworks alone?

Yea. I watched part of it. It's pretty impressive. It really shows how determined the Chinese is to show the world that they can do it. To the Chinese, 'Face' is everything. They cannot afford to slip and I'm glad they didn't. I was particularly touched by the part where YM walked out with the China Flag with the little 9 yr boy who courageously saved his friends during the Sze Chuan earthquake. It's great that they honor this 'little' hero.

So that was the boy from the quake. Man~~ I am really losing touch with the news! I was wondering why the boy had a patch of hair missing. So embarrassing! I am looking at a hero, and I know nothing about it!

Well, it was interesting to see the opening of the show. Very colorful and exciting. All with the visual simulation from the lights, colorful costumes and performances are all very nice to watch. Especially the fireworks. And watching it at home gives the added advantage of being able to view the full aerial show! Once the contingents from the different countries started, it got a little boring. heh heh heh... finally, it is over! More performances!!!

I must really agree with you on that. The performances and the opening ceremony is really something! Very nice to watch! And very interesting as well. The whole event was very well coordinated. That is something I really admire. Cos the number of people involved, the rigging of the stage, the logistics... my gawd! It must have been one nightmare after another. And they really pulled it all off beautifully. Wonderful!

It is a wonderful opening. The coordination of the whole event was very nice. I like the visual effect of the drum performance. The timing of all the drummers drumming together is really impeccable! Incredible!

The opening ceremony is very amazing. I can't say in word the man which walk in air with the rope in his body. It is creative from the steering committee. The fireworks is look very beautiful and elegant with the background of the city. The city is unlight this night to make the fireworks became more beautiful and obviously to see. Congratulation China have a success opening ceremony

I too was surprised that they light up the Olympic Torch at the stadium this way. Very interesting way to do it. So different from all the other lighting ceremony I have seen thus far. I thought they are going to use the traditional bow and arrow and shoot the flame into the Torch! Very nice touch to the ending indeed!

I too am confused when I was reading this post. I have no idea what this fella is trying to say. No heads or tails of what he is trying to put across. Can you clarify or clear up some of your posting to try and bring what you are trying to say across clearer?

I'm a Chinese. I know we've done our best to serve the worldwide athletes. What do you mean by "have you heard what they did to your best athlete", "have you seen the news this week" and "wot the hell is china all about????" Say it directly and don't confuse the public opinion. Thanks!
