If my computer had no internet, I would not be on my computer much at all. I also don't read that much, so I chose tv, lol. I did read a novel the other day for the first time in years. The problem i have with reading, is if I like a book I have to read it all in one day, so I choose not to read much.

I think for me it just depends on the mood I am in. I just got a new laptop so I do not have any games installed on it yet so really all I use it for is typing up papers for my classes or getting on the internet. If my internet were down I'd probably pull out a book and read. You honestly can never beat a good book! Plus I think it's better in the long run because reading can open up your vocabulary and intellect to so many things while the internet can do that, but most often it does not. The kids these days are too busy on myspace and facebook, or on mylot! :o) What do you prefer, you never told us?

Without Internet, there's not much to do for me on the computer... I may have some projects to attend to, or maybe watch a movie or play a game, but I believe I'll choose the books. If I have a good book in hand, I leave the computer aside.

I prefer reading books. Even though I have a laptop and most of the time I dont depend on power supply or for net connection (as mine is wireless broadband), I prefer being with books. I am an adherent reader and I cannot sleep without reading a book on any day.

If it wasn't for the Internet I would barely even use my computer. Maybe just to do some typing. However I read a lot on the net, even about books for reading off of the computer. It is a great resource for learning about new books and seeing reviews of them.

Well that's kind of a redundant question for me. because back when I didn't have internet, I would use my computer for reading. I download materials from sites like fanfiction.net and I get great reads there... This started when I finished reading every single book in the house and that's a lot considering my mom and grams are total bookworms... so anyways I was referred by a friend to the site where I can get fictional stories about my favorite characters and I got hooked, I downloaded them per chapter on my usb disk drive and read them at home since I didn't have an internet... ;) So I guess I'm just as much a computer addict as a bookworm...

If my computer doesn't have internet connection than I never use it. But if it does then I love going on the internet. But I also like to have time to read so I try to make time for both of these things.

I would choose to read when I have no internet connection, sitting in front of the computer is already very tired when I have the internet connection, when I don't have it, I think I would read instead of sitting in front of the computer, I like the feeling of holding a book or something in my hand and read.It is cool. Have a good day.

Yeah, I would for sure choose the computer...when there's no internet it's pretty much computer games and writing for me. Haha. Although I like reading fanfiction on the internet too. It's a completely different style from novels, I feel. Because in novels, authors like to make it realistic, so even when a couple ends up together, there's no sense of the "together forever" scenario, which is pretty final in fanfiction (at least, I feel it is...). In novels, it has to be some supernatural fairytale type thing for eternal to apply, like vampires, werewolves, etc. So I'd definitely prefer the computer. Though I love reading books too...there's just something about actually holding a book that makes the universe feel right, though I'm extremely picky with my books.

I always choose the computer, even when the internet is not working. I have a graphics program I like to make things with. I also do alot of things with pictures. I play games sometimes too. Of course I always make time for my bible reading and studying too, but for enjoyment, I like to use the computer.

I choose to use computer although it is not internet connection. Because I can play games, doing my job and of course watching movie in it. In reading book, we just read the story and take the knowledge and meaning from it. Also I not very like to read a book, because my eye quickly tired. I don't know why, some source sas that it because I don't often train my eye to read book regularly.

I have been fanatic about books since I was little. So the answer is easy for me. Books! :) You can only do so much with an internet free computer...but books?!? There's so many. I love getting lost in a wonderful story.

I prefer a computer far more than reading. In fact, I have recently listened to a book on my computer instead of reading it, that is how much I prefer it. I am also very computer savvy, as apposed to people who might get angry while using a computer and be displeased.

I still prepare reading books, anywhere else I can bring my books with me. I used computer for searching and surfing only and if I can't afford to buy the books. I love reading books specially when I travel I love to bring books with me or even magazines so that I never got bored.

It depends... If there is something important I have to do using the computer, then I would use it; but if there is really nothing important I'd prefer reading a good book. Written words soar my imagination, it encourages my creative thinking and it gives me a lot of ideas. But in today's trend, computers are really important and we cannot just simple do away with it. There are a lot of things that we can do using it unlike when we just read books. So, it really depends on the situation.

Hi julyteen. I always prefer a book. I like to stay at computer and online too but books are my passion. I love computer games and do much work in the computer like you said. But I never put aside the books. I can do both things but if I need to choose it will be BOOKS. Hugs my friend.

For me, it would be depend on the situation. I mean, like right now, having nothing to read and there's a game to play in the computer, I would choose naturally computer. But there are times as well, that I am in a mood to read even though I already read it and also got a games to play. But I think I would prefer computer rather than reading even if there were no internet connection. For me, there's a lot to do in the computer and really quite good pastime.
