Federer versus Sampras

Sampras has 14 and Federer has 12 Grand Slam titles. Federer hasn't won a Grand Slam in a year and will lose his No. 1 ranking within the next couple of weeks. Do you think Federer can still overtake Sampras in number of Grand Slams (and I don't mean the Denny's breakfast).

I think that he has a good chance of overtaking Sampras. When you think about it, Sampras was in his 30s when he achieved his final Grand Slam win, and Federer is still really young. There is a lot of time left in his career. There has to be a lot of stress involved in maintaining a #1 ranking, and I think that when the pressure is off, then he can concentrate on enjoying tennis and his natural superiority will again show itself.

I think he can just make it, but it would require great dedication for him to achieve the feat, especially with Raphael Nadal around. He's starting to outclass him in all surfaces now, that he can no longer be called the King of Clay. He's just going from good to better and is very menacing to Federrer. But, having seen the class of Federrer, I think this is a lull in his career and he is sure to bounce back.
