What is feminism to you?

When I ask people what feminism is I normally get many different answers, so, I want to know what it means to you.
Do you know what feminism is? Are you a feminist?
To me it is an ongoing movment which is still fighting to get women all the rights of men, pay wise, employment wise and just general respect wise. I am a feminist and I am proud of what it stand for, what about you?

Hi victoria,
I am in agreement with you there, and I'm proud of what I stand, we have fought long and hard for this, remember Emily Panghurst? we should continue to fight for women's rights in may ways. Men are afraid of it and that is why they always put women down in many ways for example someone rings about anything and a male voice on the other will aske could they speak to the husband, why can't they speak to me? they always ask for the man of the house buty what about women of the house? that is just a small example.

I hear you one that one! It happens to me quite often, they ask to speak to my husband near every time, my normal reply to them is "No, I answered the phone, you are going to talk to me." And, get ready for this, they argue the point with you! It's a huge WTF moment when they do that, exspecially when you take into account that I'm the one with the income in my home!
Then again, I normally just hang up on them when they try to argue the point.

we have really fought hard and are now equal to man in so many ways .. but ..
many woman have problem because of the standards that are set by another woman ..
i am a manager in my working place .. there are 3 other managers with me and they are all man .. although my working scope is the same as them .. i am still a woman ..
my argument .. those guys work, goes home and sits/rests while their wife do all work for them
me, i am doing the same amount of work, i am back home to do the duty of a wife as that is what my mother in laws requirements are ..
it is so tiring .. but no matter how you explain to them they do not understand. my husband does understand but he cant help much ...
we have hard, double hard than the man just for the cost of feminism movement
there are many more woman out there who are like me

I forgot who said it, but I think the best description of feminism is that "it's the radical idea that women are human beings." I'm a feminist because I believe women should have the rights and respect and chance to reach their full potential as all human beings should have.
