my old litter maid automatic cat litter box went psycho and sounded like it was eating my cats since the motor went crazy.. so stupid me i buy a new litter maid litter box and its new and improved.. my BUTT!! it was in a ton of pieces which the old one wasnt.. this one is louder.. this one scoops WORSE to where im scooping along with it like 2-3 times a day.. grrrrr!! im using the tidy cat litter that is clumping but maybe there is one that is better?? if it wasnt for the fact my cats wouldnt use a regular one i wouldnt have paid so much for this one.. i guess they like their box looking all technical haha

Techno Cats! Cool! I bought one of those contraptions a few years back. After using it about a month, I cleaned it up, put it all in a large bag and gave it to Good Will! Well, I DID buy one of the less expensive kinds; the one I bought cost about $80.00. It did what it said it would do, but always left some behind that I had to scoop up myself. Also, the tines got poop stuck in them. The thing I hated most about it was that it was so loud!!! It would scare me out of a year's growth every time it started cleaning if I was near it and didn't notice that one of the cats had just been in it. I think it began cleaning around 5 minutes after the cat left the box. I wonder if you could get your money back from them? It might be worth writing to them. They may be able to "find" you a replacement just like your old one. Companies like that LOVE feedback on their products, even if it's negative. They often thank you by giving you something in return, like a coupon or gift of some kind. If you let them know how much you loved the old one and how much you dislike the new one, they just may surprise you by sending you a "new" older model! It's worth a try!

yeah it never fully cleans and the rake isnt as deep as the old one which i cant figure out why in the heck that would happen but grr.. and yeah it waits 5 minutes before it scoops which gives me dog plenty of time to dip her head into the box and snack away *head to desk* i wish i had never gotten the other one so they wouldnt have gotten used to it so that they are so spoiled now.. oh well im gonna go see if i can write them now.. i keep forgetting that that is a good idea on things lol

Thanks for sharing your experience with the automatic litter box. I have always wanted to get one for my cat's but now I don't think I'll spend my money on one.

I have never liked those automatic litter boxes. I have used them twice in the past and it seems like they always start malfunctioning after a while. Plus they never completley clean the litter. We sold one of those and threw one out and right now I am using an old fashioned litter pan. I have no faith in the automatic ones.

well the old one did pretty good and well the cats had that one for years and so when i tried to get them to revert to an old one they just flipped me off and peed on the floor right next to it.. so i have to keep it if i want them to even use it.. and yeah it never cleans fully which is so gross
