Well after this weekdns harvest I once again pickled seven (7) quarts of stuff. Three (3) quarts of regualr sweet dill spears, one (1) quart of dill pickle slices, one (1) quart of sweet dill whole pickles, one (1) quart of mixed sweet dills, and one (1) quart of sweet dill pickled zuchinni. So I now have 10 quarts of pickles etc so far. Have to start giving some away soon. Have you pickled anything at all this year? Have you ever tasted homemade sweet dill pickles at all? Bob we usually have a guy who sets up close to my house with produce, not this year, and I have not seen one local cuke. I know there has to be some, but I just haven't taken the time to go to the farmers market, plus gas prices have kept me close to home. I dearly love Bread and Butter pickles, but have not made any in several years. I did get about a bushel of SC peaches in the freezer, oh they were so juicy, sweet absolutely delicious. Now ya got me wanting some B and B pickles, LOL. Blessings Marilyn

I was thinking about contacting the city to see how much a license would cost to set up a stand in my yard. They won't allow it without a permit I think. I am waiting on my sweet corn to ripen. Plus my apples as I want to make more Apple Crisp like I did last fall. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thats alot of pickles, I hope you like eating them..lol. I don't hardly ever pickle anything, actually I don't know how, my grandma used to do it, but unfortunately I didn't pay much attention, when I was younger. I've never tasted homemade pickles either, I bet they're much better than the store bought. Have a good day

Hello grandpa! I didn't realize you made so many bottles! I thought from your previous post that you only made one jar for yourself hehe. Perhaps instead of giving them away you can sell it? I don't particularly like pickles but I'm sure you'll know people who do. Just make the packaging a little nicer, so that it really looks homemade. :)

I like the regular Kosher dill pickles and I am not even Jewish. I never cared for sweet pickles, and the zuchinni, well my husband does not like it, but I have made zuchinni bread and ate them raw. The last time I made pickles was years ago when we used to like in Saskatoon and then we had a hot house and a garden.

Wish I live nearby so I could try some. Sounds delicious! I chuckled at the name of your post. Around here, there is a company called Viv Pickle Purses. Women have parties in their home and they design their own handbags. So we are always saying "I'm having a Pickle Party!" http://www.vivpickle.com/

I've had sweet pickles and dill pickles but no sweet dill pickles. I've been twice given pickles from people who made them, but I'm such a coward I didn't eat them, I let the former roommate have them.

Wow, your gonna be in pickles for sometime to come gpa bob. I;ve tasted homemade sweet pickles, but not for years. I think I told you before about my last years cucumber issues. Anyway until I can figure out how to grow cucumbers I dont think I'm going to be the pickle business. Funny story: One time last year I was getting gas and this woman came up with fresh cukes and summer squash and said coud you use some of these? I ahve way more than we could ever use. I said sure! and helped myself to some produce. I saw she was givin it away around the gas station to surprised and grateful people. Maybe you could unexpectedly give somepickles away. People would be happy.

I love pickles and just wish I was somewhere close to you so I could get some freebies. I am sure your neighbourhood and friends must be enjoying your pickles. Have not had the chance to have sweet dil pickle and have not made pickle at home for many years.
