As a child I remember watching the fancy dressed women and me glide across the ice, swirling, dancing around and around, leaping in the air. I would gasp when one would lose control and fall. They would smile as if it were a part of their routine and get up and skate again.

I too remember it, not being the world's most graceful person (or even close) I could only admire the talent that they add. Now, that I am older, I realize that the figure skaters are true athlete's, The stamina it takes to skate around and do the jumps and spins for several minutes is just incredible. I think football and baseball players don't even compare to the athletic ability of the skaters.

I used to figure skate. It was my life, my love, my passion! And no, it usually doesn't hurt when we fall!! I'm sure I have fallen millions of times, I think we just learn "how" to fall. Now my family and my kids are my love and passion, but I love what skating gave me when I was young. It was such a wonderful world to be a part of!
