^_^ As real Christian.. is it really said in the Bible that we will not Judge people who are not obeying God's Word?? Matthew 7:1 said that.. Do not judge so that you will not be judged. but does this statement address to hypocrites.. considered this statement of mine.. It is not wrong to tell people that he/she is wrong.. coz when that someone is continuing his/her wrong doings.. will not enter heaven.. it is not wrong to judge that person coz its God judgment that passes it to that person through a real Christian.. in fact it is the duty of a real Christian to judge those who give a bad name on God's word.. John 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment. your ideas...

the bible teachs that if you have a disput with someone to first acknowledge it to them. and if they continue bring in another person as to mediate the situation. if the person continues, then expell them from your group. so you are giving that person 3 chances. but the bible also says that you need to keep on forgiving them of what they do not matter how many times they do it. but when you say judge, in this day and age you are - and this is what i am understanding from what you have already said- judging people like hypocrites. okay there is my take on it from what i have read. when you judge someone by their actions: lets say someone claims to be a christrian but is not on the path to their faith, the bible tell us that those people do need to be corrected but in a loving manner - we are to build each other up in Christ not to point out their faults or question whether or not they do have faith. only God knows what things they say in the dark. and as it says all things will be brought into the light. if you judge someone by their apperance. take me for example. i have tattoos, peircing and look like i could do some serious damage- but no one would guess from my outter apperance that i am a warrior for God. they would think any thing from that. probably label me a punk or something on that realm of things. that my friend is judging. you have already made up your mind about who i am just by looks alone. now the bible also says that in the end times God will harden people hearts which means that no matter of the degree of correction they will continue in their ways. no matter what the real truth is they will not listen. i also think that christians have misjudged alot of those that are islamic. due to the fact that their religon goes to extremes. but those that are extreme put a bad name on those that are not. just like the crusaides did for the christians. i would suggest reading 1 and 2 corinthains. those people were ruthless and ungodly and that is why he was told to stop their to let them see and know the truth about how to live a proper life according to God. good luck on your quest my friend. and remember that we are not the judges of this world but the salt and we will be hated for fallowing Christ.

Who defines righteous judgement? Someone standing behind a pulipit preaching to people? Society as a whole? I believe the "Do not judge so that you will not be judged" means exaclty as the Golden Rule states, do unto to others as you would have done to you. It is easy to point the finger and shout condemnation when you have never walked in the shoes of others. I am not a Bible connissuer (or howver you spell it) but was Jesus not judged based upon righteous judgement while he was being crucified? Only hypocrites are so driven by labels and pressing the issues of right and wrong.

I may have never fully read the Bible, but I have had exposure to it...attended church schools when I was younger requiring me to memorize passages, etc. But I do not believe that anyone who does not attend church is lost of God's words and actions. In fact, I tend to stay away from mass groups because usually the actual meaning of God's words and actions are lost among the masses. To me God is in everyone. Read the Bible, but don't let anyone else TELL you what he is saying....and I look at others as I would want them to look at me. Sure everyone falls, but it's what you do in order to get back up on your feet that matters. If you do not learn from your past you will indefinitely repeat it.

Oh and there is no real "christian" out there. We are human beings, some who follow christianity, others follow other faiths...but if you state you are a "real christian" what's the definition of real? This is the problem with labels...and what causes most of the issues and warring between religions. I am real person, you are a real person....Christ was a real person- who was judged and executed by what others thought. that is what righteous judgement does, it kills reality.

My friend, the Bible is very clear: Matthew 7 verses 1 -5 is literally clear. It is addressed to everyone. WE have not right to judge only Jesus will judge this world in the very end. Telling people that they are wrong is not wrong because it is not a form of judgment. It is on the other hand a way of letting them realize they are at fault and so they will know and will learn to mend their ways. Christians has no right to judge my dear. I wish to correct you on that wrong notion. We have to follow what the Bible says. We can always point to anyone what is wrong and tell them what is the truth but this is not judgment. When we tell what is wrong to them and still they don't believe we as Christians should not take it against them but rather we should pity then and in fact it is our duty to pray for them because in the first place they also have souls and they will perish and that is a terrible thing to happen. When you tell someone you will go to hell because you did not accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior is not judging but rather declaration of what is truth on the basis of what is written in the Bible. Unbelievers might say, Oh you are judging me but actually it is not. It is just that the Bible tells so and it is our duty as Christians to share the word of God. And may I also reiterate that a person is not not going to hell because of his wrong doings but rather a person will go to hell because of his unbelief in Jesus and his saving grace. And anyone who really believed and accepted Jesus will no longer continue with his wrong doings. Good works should be a product of new life with Christ. I must remind you that there are good people who are not into wrong doings but still will go to hell because they rejected Jesus in their life. That is what the Bible actually declares. Now the righteous judgment being mentioned in Joh 7:24 is not the judgment being mentioned in Matthew 7:1. The latter is literal judgment while the first has something to do with how we will look and consider our fellowmen. Matthew 7:1 - 1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. I hope I have helped you. Have a very nice day! God bless!

^_^ yes you have your point of view.. consider this.. what if someone told me that our church is the right one.. then that church mediator is not Christ.. then there is there is this sacraments.. and i oppose.. then started to judge what are they doings.. in reading the Word of God.. not on my own word..?

Personally, I live by the credo that it is not for me to cast judgement on others - that will be God's responsibility. I also believe that it is not right for one church or religious organization to pass judgement on others sects. It is why I have a difficult time to associate myself with any one church as I have lived through the judgement of churches and individuals who passed judgement on people who they believed were not good enough for God. God didn't say that we had to be well dressed or project the perfect image for Him to listen to our prayers and for us to be able to talk to Him. If I ever find a church that will take me no matter what I look like, then I will consider joining. I have yet to find one near where I live. If everyone only judged themselves, the world would be a more peaceful happy place to live.

Telling a friend of God and judging others is two different things. Those that go around judging others without knowing or living in the others "shoes" can make many mistakes in their judgement.

^_^ you have your point.. but my point in this discussion is telling others in a righteous way--God's word to correct their wrong doings.. not just by appearance.. of course it is not right.. but some judge there self by their actions..

Very often we believe we are judging someone when all we are doing is accepting the facts before our eyes. We are not supposed to express our opinion of someone being wrong. If you see someone doing something that is against God Law then there is nothing wrong with you admitting the facts. Just don't say it for someone else to hear. One of the big advantages of the Anointing of the Holy Spirit is so God can lift the vale where we can see for ourselves what is right and what is wrong. If we do that then we are basing it on God's judgement and not our own. Just be sure you are basing your opinion on God's judgement and not your own.

I found a similar verse in Luke 6:37-42, Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you..... I understand where your coming from. The problem is that some Christan judge even though they themself have sin (everyone has sinned). Some Christians are really good at judging one another. I believe that if a person asks us or wants to know why everything isn't going wrong in their life (hitting bottom), then maybe the right time to address issues is then but in a gentle way and never condemning. To many times the person is judged and not the action. The main mission here is to teach about Jesus and let the Holy Spirit will convict. A lot of times people judge on issues that are debatable.

I agree with your post. Instead of judging people to be right or wrong we as Christians need to live our lives in a way that when others do (Hit Bottom) they will want come to jus and ask for our help. We need them to come to us, not us to go to them. The Bible tells us to let our light shine for all to see. It is our job as Christians to actual show God and Jesus in our lives. However in this day in time there are very few arund that can actually shopw anyone anything. Wortds alone just will not get the job done.

well, we have to look at the context when Jesus said that statement... it cannot just be taken literally like that... i believe that we are allowed to judge as long as we do it with love and we don't hate the person... that is what usually happen... the Bible teaches us to tell one another in love and we hate the sin (behaviors) but not the person... we still have to love the person regardless what happened... take care and have a nice day...

I don't know but men usually misrepresent the term judging as something synonymous to condemning. As far as I see it, the early Church made judgments, and they were mean. Paul even asserted and insisted that Christians should make wise judgments. It is our duty to test the spirits around us, and how do we do that, by making wise and righteous judgments.

^_^ yes its God's Word.. we are just an instrument.. after all the Bible is "..is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16)" so that we can know who is telling the truth..

I guess you can tell a person that you THINK she/he is wrong; but to tell that he/she IS wrong will be a bit too much. I mean, who are you to tell someone else is wrong? A "real Christian" as you say is after all a human being. As a human being, he/she is imperfect, with limited knowledge and understanding. So how can he teach right or wrong? At the most, he or she can quote the Bible, just as you seem to be doing. These are my views about judging: "You can't judge anyone simply because you can never know the entire truth about anyone's state of mind, level of understanding, their quality of life, psychological make up, education, culture, and a myriad other factors. Since you cannot know a person completely, you can't judge him/her simply because you lack the knowledge. And, IF, and it is a very big IF, you somehow gain 100 percent knowledge of a person, you will not judge a person. You will understand perfectly why a person behaves as he/she does, and you will be filled with love, compassion, and understanding, not judgment." Cheers and happy mylotting

^_^ entire truth of someone..?? as i said.. they judge them self of their doings.. personally i can't and will not judge a person's appearance.. coz its wrong and your explanation above is right... BUT yes a big but.. when it comes to the Bible.. tell the Author not to judge their doings.. cause even i is being judge by the Author.. cause i too not a perfect person.. if you are not doing what the Author of the bible.. read it if you will not be judge..

Lets face it, there's a huge potential for mistakes in judging. Besides, we can never really know someone else well enough to make a perfect judgement. No one knows what actually goes into another person's life. How can you ? You just don't know it all. So you can never judge, simple.

People always quote Matthew 7:1, ""Do not judge, or you too will be judged." But they forget that the next verse says, "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." It isn't that we're not supposed to judge. But we are supposed to realize that by whatever standards we judge, we will also be judged. If question the faith of another, our own faith may be called into question. The Bible also tells us that the most important things we can do are to love God and love our neighbor. If we remember the definitions of love...first God is love. If we're going to love like the one who is LOVE, that's quite a challenge. We need to remember that love is patient and kind and not self-serving. It is not rude. When we love someone, we honor and respect them and hold them in high regard. And if we truly do love someone, we will kindly help point him/her in the right direction. We will kindly judge people, knowing that in return we can expect to be kindly judged. But if we don't show that love and patience and kindness, and rush ahead to rudely judge people, that's the way we will also be judged. Rudely and without love or kindness. Seems pretty simple to me.

Let's just focus on what God wants us to do. If He said Do Not Judge, then we must not. It's not our concern anymore if other gives a bad name to Jesus. Let God deal with it. Yes, God may be using youo to correct that person but definetely not thry the judgement that we people are used to. It's thru compassion and love.

the golden rule is innate in the vast majority of humans. as individuals we decide what is moral or immoral. there is no need to use an ancient text to look up what to do when presented with these questions.
• Canada

The bible has some gems like the golden rule etc. however, it is hardly a text which one should be taking their moral guidelines from. Do you really need a book to tell you how to act? The bible has some of the worst advice in it. Do what YOU feel is morally right. Isn't that what you do anyways?

^_^ my friend this book is a Word of God.. it is said that 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: and God also said that.. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. see it is God who instruct real Christian..

Hmm. This can all be open to interpretation I guess. "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone" could possibly contradict your statement that it is the duty of a Christian to judge another. Judge those who give God's word a bad name again may be an exception; yet it also states in the Bible that a Christian is to be a "Fisher of men"; so rather than judge another maybe a Christian shoudl seek to show them the light? A modern equivalent (arguably)is "Those living in glass houses should not throw stones" and "Charity begins at home". In my opinion a faith is a personal path and aside from maybe looking to spread the word we should not be seeking to judge others who choose not to. Rather we should exercise tolerance and acceptance and use less abrasive means than judging them in order to try to convince them to follow the same path.
