I'm looking for some good vampire books. Can anyone recommend anything? I've read anything from Anne Rice to Michele Bardsley, so my tastes range from serious to romantic to funny. Any suggestions for must read books?

You should defiantly read the Twilight series if you havent already. They are amazing and my favorite books. The fourth and final one just came out on August 2nd. Also Night World is pretty good. Im not sure of the author but its pretty good.

I tried to read the first book in the Twilight series, and I just couldn't get into it. Maybe it's time to give it another try.

the twilight series is really good. Tyhe4 movie helped a lot because it helped me get a clearer image of what's happening in the books. It really helped me and it was like I was watching the whole book rather than reading it because it was so fun. It's all clear. Try it!

The nocturne series is good. They have vampires and other types of creatures in the books. Here is one of the titles from it Familiar stranger-by Michele Hauf. I got the series from the harliquen book club. But Iam sure you can find it at the library or in a book store.

I will have to check the nocturne series out. I wish we had a library that was worth a darn here, but I will have to wait to get to the book store.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward is pretty good. Also the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts. There's another great series about vampires, the gods, shapeshifters, etc., by Sherrilyn Kenyon called The Dark Hunter Series.

i will recommend books by kresley cole. i like her way of writing. first one is the series is a hunger like no other, second is no rest for the wicked, wicked deeds on a winter's night, dark deeds at night's edge and dark desire after dusk. the others are coming soon. it is not all of vampires though, the story includes about the valkyries, some are about witches, warewolfs and the likes. the books are contemporary romance. try it you might like it ^_^

"I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson is definitely worth a read. It turns the whole genre on its head, and is probably the second most influential vampire book after "Dracula".

Most of the books I have bought recently are vampire books. The ones I have read are Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series, Lynsay Sands' Argeneau books, Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga, L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries along with her Night World series, P.C. Cast's House of Night series, Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampires series, and Ellen Schreiber's Vampire Kisses Series. Those are the series I've read and one book that's good that is a one shot deal is Annette Curtis Klause's The Silver Kiss. I have this vampire kick now along with one of my coworkers and it doesn't help that we both work at Borders. I hope some of those books are to your liking.
