You get what you pay for. Agree? Disagree?

My mom always said "you get what you pay for." She always saved to buy quality items rather than something that looked good but didn't hold up. And she stil has -- 20 years later -- some of the furniture she bought when I was living at home. But then again, might it not be better to have things wear out so you can get NEW things? I tend to think I really don't want the same couch for 15+ years. How about you?
