Only the people involved will know when it is right. There is no common age for all people. Everyone matures at a different rate. Therefore love and dedication means something different to each person. A person should only agree to enter marriage if they know they are ready for the commitment.

I totally agree with you. I prefer to have something I can keep permanently rather than something that will die after only a few days. I am a tight wad and prefer to have something that will last long after the holiday has passed.

I have several special days to me: the birth of each one of my three children, my wedding date, the day I had gastric bypass surgery and many others. I also have some other days that are significant in a negative way. Only those I wish to forget rather than to celebrate....of course.....

Sometimes jealousy comes from his insecurities or from the failure of past relationships. Sometimes it may stem from his parents' relationships or those of others he has seen. Try to talk with him about the issue. If he is too demanding or too controlling you will want him to seek help or you may just want to walk away. No one can really make that decision but you. I am a female and I too save some of my emails and text messages for future reference. I believe we, as women, like to go back and be reminded of the sweet things someone may say to us. I also keep others as sources of information.

I believe couples can achieve such happiness if both partners are willing to work hard at it. However, most couples grow apart because one partner or the other doesn't want to put as much energy into the relationship as is needed. Love is like a garden - it must be tended to to allow it to grow and flourish.

My daughter's boyfriend just returned home from 8 months away at BASIC and AIT training for National Guard. I understand what you are felling but know you will make it and possibly become a stronger person because of it.
