I find it incredible that Spitz's record has stood for so very long. 30 years is a long time for a record to stand when so many have tried to break it. Even now, it's only been tied but who knows what tomorrow could bring?

Phelps is an amazing athlete and now stands at 7 golds. I have been impressed with his skill dedication and maturity with the press. I wish him well tomorrow for #8

I was setting o n the edge of my seat watching that race. I am real glad the Michael won this race. His Mom seemed to be in disbelief as the cambers were on her. It was a very close race. If it wasn't for the tecknowldgy I think the race would have been considered a tie. I'm rooting for him to wim the next one too.

I watched that tonight with my son. When Phelps won the race my son was yelling and cheering like he was watching a touchdown for a football game. I'm glad that Phelps won. He's from my home town and the last time that he won the gold medals we gave him a big parade. I just wonder if the hometown can top what this did the last time. DCMerkle
