I'm concerned about a new series on NBC this fall called "America's Toughest Jobs". In this series, rookies compete with each other to see who's best at a hard job- crab fishing, ice road trucking, gold digging, monster truck driving, oil rigging, bullfighting, bridge crew, logging, and search and rescue. All of which are professions which require many years of training and people tend to die while performing them. I don't see anything entertaining about watching 13 idiots try to kill themselves for money. The top prize is the combined annual salary of all nine rookie level salaries. No small pocket change of course. But is it really worth your life? Have we become so low as a society that we are amused by our fellow human beings endangering themselves? I don't think when I was a kid in the mid 80's, the censors would have even allowed this on TV. What do you think? Will you be watching? I hope by appealing to my better angels that I won't be but I know that human suffering can sometimes be tempting, even for the most progressive among us. I hope I will not be tempted.

The minds of society today is warped. There's no question about it, it's warped. It's no wonder for what we see on television today as well as computer and other games that kids play today. What ever happend to Tom and Jerry, Popeye, Roadrunner to name a few? Those were the good ole days where we learned to laugh and enjoy a good cartoon but now a days it's all about blood and guts. What a sad shame.

I will definately be watching it. Shows like this remind me of what it took for the world to be as it is. Hard work behind the scenes. many people don't understand what it takes for society to get certain items in their lives.
