Would You Ever Date Someone From other Race?

I know someone who really gets frustrated with having a boyfriend. I don't know what the hell is the problem that nobody dares to court her. Until one time when she attended an affair with her friends, the most awaited beer feast month (Octoberfeast). She met an American guy named Tom. They went out for quite some time and to make the story short she ends up having a boyfriend finally. Then I asked her, how does it feel to date someone from different race? She just answered that sometimes the different ones just work unexpectedly!

Maybe or maybe not. Perhaps if I don't have any relationship right now. The only race I can't stand would be Africans who are black, I just don't like black guys. It's not racism right, I just don't like it. How about you? Would you like a black guy?

I find your comments very racist and narrow minded, but then again I have been happily married to a black man for nearly 20 years. To each their own I suppose.

It's not really about race or colour, its more about the culture really, and your own ideals and thoughts. It's just about whether people get along. So if some personal is very traditional, and someone else is very modern, they might clash in somethings they do together. its not really a racial issue, its just about expectations, and culture.

Every serious relationship I've had has been with a person of another race. Not that I've had a lot, mind you. First off, just to be clear, I'm black. The first boy I ever dated was Asian. The first girl I ever dated was white as well as the second girl I dated. The last boy I ever dated was Latino.

Yes, I would date someone from a different race. I like living in a multi cultural society. I really love traveling. I like my boyfriend to have some similar interests to me like enjoying traveling, a vegan or vegetarian diet and caring for animals. I find a dark skin really lovely and I think that the Chinese look is attractive.

I have been married to a man who is another color than I am for over 19 years now and we have four very wonderful children. We have had our share of problems from people who don't like it but overall we are very happy and do not have the kind of problems that so many people talk about when they are against interracial relationships.

I have one problem: I don't see a person's race when I look at them or talk to them. I just see them as humans.

Yes of course.. I mean, yes, I would date somebody from a different race. As long as he is human, I believe!hahaha what big difference does it make anyway? I have seen a lot of successful relationships from tow people of different race. And anyway, if you ask me, it’s not about the race at all, it’s about love and understanding, and being there for each other.. As long as two people love each other, there should be no reason for them not to be happy. Not loving or liking someone just because she or he comes from a different race is just to shallow a reason for me!

i guess its quite good. I wish also to have a foreigner boyfriend. I do believe that there's nothing wrong to have a boyfriend who is from different race. Its a matter of how you will handle the relationship.

Dear friend, I do have no object in dating someone in different race. Actually for me it is a really thrilling experience and moreover I had rarely got even anyone from my own race to date. May be it would be exploring to other person's character and race. I do not care what race that person is from. Only thing I do be careful never to date with someone who is dangerous or who could hurt me.

Hmm I understand what she means. I had a few suitors of my own race before. I even had one whom I was even close with but somehow the relationship thingy didn't happen between us. I never had a boyfriend of my own race. It seems to work out one way or another with a different race. Maybe it's just my personality or something.

The question is love or race , which is priority for you ? If you have the answer within you the there is no need of this question. As per me i will date a girl from another race if she is good at heart and able to love inturn. For me leove is bigger than race no matter what ever it is.

I have dated someone from another race. I am Caucasian and have gone out with Philipino, Korean, African American, Polish, Indian, Chilian.... I think that it all depends on personalty. Skin color has nothing to do with it. Culture may be different but no matter who you go out with the families do different things. I do believe that things just have a way of working themselves out. If we limit ourselves to what we think should be, then we may never find what is possible.

I dated someone of a different race when I was in school. I ended up marrying someone from the same race - but it had nothing to do with race - it had to do with love. My sister has been in an inter-racial marriage for 22 years - and very happy. They have 5 wonderful, beautiful kids - and their kids date people they like, no matter what race the person is. I think people make too much over race - a person is a person is a person. We all have different backgrounds and different cultures - and rather than let these things tear a relationship apart, a couple should embrace the best of each. I tell my nieces and nephews not to let people's comments bother them (we live in the south, so people do still make rude, stupid comments) - just to tell them that they are the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! And, they are!

Due to internet and due to my relatives being spread all over the europe i am friends with many girls of different 'races' (Id have preferred the word ethnicity, but thats just me). I have dated English, Japanese, Finnish, Macedonian, Belgian, Russian and Australian girls, of course Indians as well. I don't really see a problem with dating someone from a different race or culture in case distance is not an issue which always end up being the spoil sport in my case :P. Makes it more interesting sometimes.

I would be more comfortable dating someone my own race. This is because we'll have the same background and culture, so it won't be weird to talk about those things. At the same time, I'm also open to the idea of discovering new cultures and ways of living. It would definitely be interesting to go out with a different guy. But I don't thin it will work for me in the long haul because of the difference in culture.

Aww~ A sweet love story This is soemthing like straight out from the fairy tales. Lol. I guess most girls would have dreamt of a Prince Charming like what had happened to your friend! She is so so lucky!::envys::Anyway, I would! I have dated many different guys of different races before and frankly speaking, it is not that much of a difference dating somebody of your own race! The only thing that one would have to overcome is how people look at us, and whether or not both families could accept the union between you and your partner, and give their whole hearted blessings. I am Chinese, and I had dated guys who are Chinese , Malays and Indian guys. I had also dated someone who is Eurasian! However, many of these relationships broke up because of the violent objections from the guy's family!*Weird* Till today, I could never understand why they would object so violently when my own mum is not even objecting. Then, I came to realise one things and that is the Malay and Indians in Singapore are still pretty conservative and traditional by today's standard. They are the only 2 races in SIngapore who had retained their special cultures and traditions, whereas the Chinese in Singapore are more liberal and westernised. To them, I am considered a bad girl as I am more liberal in my thoughts and actions. But, it is okay for me, as in the end I have found the guy that has everything that I want in a guy, and guess what? He's Chinese!
