Do Most People Actually Read what You Write

I am starting this discussion because I feel and find from some of the responses made an discussion that only few People read the discussions we post. Most of the people generally give look and reply in a line or two. The responses itself speaks whether the responder has understood the meanings of what the discussion carries. There are more casual lookers and there are seldom who go through and respond on the contents of the discussion. Even in some of the responses the clear picture is not depicted what that discussion means. People make responses for the sake of response as I think they feel that more they respond more they get credit. This not the reality. Every discussion posted at my lot is very properly monitored and the responses it fetches are also properly watched and on the basis of the substance of the discussions the credits are made to the account of the member. I would like to ask all my friends at my lot to be more descriptive in posting discussion on any matter and make responses with reasoning either to agree or disagree with contents of the post or discussion. I can with confidence say that on one single day I made few postings and made few reasonable responses agreeing or disagreeing with their feelings and thoughts. I got much credits to my account. And on contrary in other day when I posted a lot of discussions consuming lot of time it fetches few. I think the admin of the My lot very closely watch each and every activity at my lot and award credits based on the quality and description of the discussion or the response.I hope you will certainly go through thoroughly and give valuable comments. I hope you will certainly read it thoroughly and post your valuable opinion.

I actually disagree your point to some extent. There are people who want to just increase their count. But the others do read the topic and try to be as descriptive as possible. But unfortunately they couldn't write more than 3 or 4 lines. It depends on the individual. Everyone can't be like you. I mean as a good writer. I have a lot of trouble in writing. I actually don't like to write in detail. Short and Sweet. This is what I have followed right from my childhood. One can't change suddenly. Right? Even I know that the response must be very descriptive to earn. Am trying a lot to improve. Hehe. I think I have improved a little. Hehe. Happy mylotting. Have fun.

Thank u vidhyavini, Really your comments are very much valuable. You are right some people can not write more and they conclude in few lines. I think they have a deep vision and sharp IQ so they understand the contents by reading slogan and the conclusion of the discussion. Thank you again.

I'm very agree with vidhyavinni. I just took participant in this community three days ago. I can write well in my language, Melayu (Malaysia) and Arabic. But I have a big problem when write in English. I'm just a beginner in this language. What I saw in MyLot there are many people like me, come from all around the world. I think I can use MyLot to improve my English. I don't care much about money.

i don't know why anyone would respond to a post that they have not read. you are not suppose to respond to a post anyway with one or two lines. it says to be as descriptive as possible. so why not give your two cents so you can get two cents. I hope people read this post and take what you said to mind, and stop responding with a sentence. if they don't have anything to had then they should move on to the next post where their voices can be heard

personally am new to this discussions,it discourages me to hear that guys are giving their comments without giving it a deeper thought.i think the topics of discussion are raised with a deep need to know or get answer to a certain disturbing issue.if what is given as an answer is not detailed then it means we have not helped someone.please lets check on this.

so right. of course there are silly and fun topics here. but for those discussions that need answers, i say if you don't have anything to say then don't say anything at all

More then worrying about mylot admin (who must have a hard job if its true) going through and reading, I guess I like to take the term, "discussion" quite literally and seriously. A discussion is give and take. Its listening closely to what another has to say and giving them the respect of a good, honest response. Great topic!

I plead both guilty and not guilty. I know I've done this and I do try not to do it. And, I admit I still don't see the difference reflected in my earnings. I'm not saying you are wrong. I am saying I know but don't see the results you say there are.

I do agree with you. It is important to understand the meaning of the discussion and to give a good descriptive response, which means you need to explain why you agree or disagree or describe your own experience in an interesting way. It's not about how good your English is, though it helps to have a good knowledge of English. I think that's why many posts are very short, because some people find it difficult to write in English. If your post can be understood it really does not matter if the English style, grammar or spelling isn't perfect. I too earn more from a few responses which are of good length and, I hope, quality, than for writing many short ones. That's why I don't usually respond to a discussion if I can't write more than a few lines in my response. If you want to make money at myLot you need to understand that it is not about numbers. Adding a lot of brief responses to increase your post count will not earn you more money. Those responses usually add little or no value to a discussion.

THis is true lots dont look thru and read the whole post . Then others rea the whole post like I do but when responding can lose thougts on thepost if it has so many questions in it. I try to reread so I get it all but alot of times I dont. Then on some posts There is only one way to do it with a to the point and short and sweet. As most of the people on my friends list know if I have no more to say about it they get the short version if it calls for more they get that too.

You can't respond to a post if you haven't read it. How are you supposed to respond if you don't even know what the discussion says. I like to read the discussions. They are interesting. I get a lot out of some of the discussions that are posted here. I also like to read the responses to the discussions also.

Oh I agree sweet corn is great! Lol, no I do only mean to jest. I understand completely what you mean about people and not reading and responding and their feelings towards both. I can understand what you mean when you say it pays more (literally) to be thorough, then it does to be short. I hate seeing people who don't read properly but I always give them the benefit of the doubt because I assume they are from a different country. If I see someone from my own country I have to wonder "you should know better" especially if they're grammar is in a way that I know they are not an immigrant to America but an American citizen. I hope that more people read thoroughly through discussions and give it the credit it deserves instead of seeking credit that they will not get, and friends they will not make because of their lack of content. I like to jest, and sometimes I do it to lighten the mood, I pick and choose and always explain so that people know. Most the time I put "serious discussion" on my discussion and yet I get not so serious responses, and this could be people being jestful themself (and if explained is accepted by me) or people who put whatever they want to (aka, it could be about sweet corn like what I said above!) Well I hope that you understand what I mean, I appreciate this discussion. More people need to read our complaints and heed warning, so that if they are the type to not read they know not to come to our discussions, aye?

I do my best to read every word of a new discussion & respond accordingly!!! I find some confusing with the way they were written & read them twice before responding. I try to give a full & complete response to the discussion. After doing so, I despise geting a quick & short response to my time & effort. One discussion, every response was Thank you & happy mylotting That is inappropriate & against one of myLot's Guidelines as well as insulting to me. If i take the time to read a discussion & respond to it, then the owner of the discussion should certainly take time to give a reasonable response to acknowledge my efforts. I responded to one discussion that only required a simple yes or no. I responded with no it cannot happen & continued to explain why I felt that way. I received a terse response that I did not understand the question & did not answer her question. Obviously she did NOT read what I had written. I did NOT go back & attempt to explain again as I'm sure she would have read even less. So I find the failure to read goes both ways. Also some discussions are written in such a way that I don't understand exavtly what the owner is even trying to convey. So my answer might correspond with what they were thinking because they were unclear. Even so, I did read & possibly reread every word. After I give my response, they respond with something that makes me think Oh that's what they were saying.

Every one live his way and come here to enjoy himself. They are happy because they can do what they like here. Your discussion may remind them some thing else, then they write what they think as response. And the backgrounds are not the same, there are a lot of misunderstandings. Just let them response as they like.

I too have noticed that there are few sentences or few descriptions when someone is responding to a discussion. It is true, that before when I responded to a discussion, that was short it was not credited. But sometimes people respond to post and it has nothing to do what the person is talking about. I totally agree with what you are saying. That please read post carefully and put what you think about that post. I hope that everyone follows your advice.

oh yes... i definitely read every post that i responded to... i can't respond to a discussion without reading the content first... that will be so wrong... i prefer to respond to a few but quality responses rather than respond to many but full of craps... the same with creating a post... i prefer to post few good discussions as well rather than many but empty discussions... take care and have a nice day...

hi sweethomecatring, well, i think you are right on some points. it's not my own experiences but my friend's, showing that he always get significant daily earning by only posting a few post (either new discussions or responses to other discussions). i notice that she always put sense on every post of her. she doesn't respond just for the sake of response. i myself always try to read the discussion i will respond to, despite its long description . regarding the responders to my discussions, maybe some of them don't thoroughly read my description. but most responses to my discussions imply that the poster really read the discussion they respond.

Oh come on my dear!!! I think every one reads what they are writing. Now, some people like to be very descriptive. Others, like me, just try to keep it concise, Get the point?!!
