For me, i just can't stand the smell which seems to stay with me until an hour...and I felt uncomfortable, i just feel that way, and sometimes I don't know why! Thus the thought of visiting a loved one feels grateful.... And I think the ambience of the hospital would add up to that feeling, if it looks old, dark and mysterious I think you really feel some kind of creeped out... How bout you? Do you feel the same? Happy posting!

at first, i didn't like going in the hospitals, but for my illness i have had to go in so many times now and have been in the hospital so many times now that it does bother me anymore, just another place, another building, somewhere i have to go.

yeah, i know exactly what you mean. i grew up in asia and most hospitals there were exactly like you described: old, dark, and mysterious with that typical smell. not to mention the sick and injured people that you see. i used to get creeped out every time i went into a hospital. now i live in the US and most of the hospitals here are nice, modern and bright, and they don't have that smell. so they don't creep me out.

Luckily no, I dont get that feeling. Just as well since I work in a hospital I think the feeling is different depending on your reason for being there. Being a patient, you know you're needing treatment and dont know when you'll get out, as a visitor, you are worried about the person you're visiting and seeing other sick people can be scary. When you are working, you can expect to leave within about 8 to 10 hours. I do feel as though I 'smell' of hospital when I get home but my family dont notice it so I suppose its psychological.
