I'm not sure why, but hearing sirens always frightens me. I guess when my loved ones are out and about I worry that they might have an accident and hearing the sirens just heightens that fear. Do you also get scared when you hear sirens or do you just think nothing of it?

We don't have tornado sirens where I live, but I think that would surely make me even more nervous.

I dont. Im a nurse and sirens remind me that someone needs my help. But for the firetrucks, i am still not afraid when i hear them. I'll be more afraid if i see a big puff of smoke or fire per se.

Not quite unless the siren is very loud or shrilling. If it is an ambulance siren, I normally try to send a prayer that everything would be ok for everyone. It is all I can do really...

My heart always skips a beat involuntarily. I think that's because of the dark association with what's actually happening. Then I wonder what had happened and how far away the location is from my house. I don't get scared, but I always feel a little uneasy.

No, I guess that I have been used to hearing sirens because we lived very near a hospital when I was small. Also, I am normally a positive person and do not think that something awful is happening to my loved ones. I might fear the siren if I hear it close to me like a police car maybe but generally I am not afraid

I do get scared sometimes when I hear them. Especially when I'm outside and like the firetrucks are around my building or something I get really scared and start thinking the worse. Around my building the firefighters have been coming over here a lot because the building in front of us. My mother and I always run downstairs to see what is going on and whether we are in danger. There was one time when we heard the sirens and everything and when we went downstairs one floor of that building in front of us was on fire. It was the scariest thing I've ever seen. Some of the guys from my building went up through the firescape to help a woman with her baby that was trying to get down.

Like you, when my hubby is out, I get scared for him when I hear sirens. I also don't really like when they wake me up in the middle of the night.
