Do You Find You Shop More....

On-line? I don't know if I've gotten lazy ever since I got my own computer just last year, but I'm finding I'm buying things more on-line that in actual stores. I can browse about, comparison shop and sometimes the price difference between "stores" on-line be incredible. Don't ask the last time I actually went to a mall...besides usually don't have "extra" money to do so, so what's the point of window shopping if you don't have the green stuff. When I recently came into some extra money, I decided to finally get my new bed and even mattress solely on-line...Yes some might think how the heck can one buy a mattress on-line without going to a store and "trying it out"? But that's exactly what I did...I went to the US-Mattress on-line store...and BTW highly recommend them...picked out a Sealy Plush and haven't regretted it....it's wonderful!! It was FREE shipping too to boot. I was told it could take up to three weeks for the mattress to be delivered to me...instead I got it within a week of buying it. Some might remember my "dilemma" of wanting to buy a good pair of shoes and didn't see a darn thing I liked...so said to myself crap..so don't ask how many shoe-related websites I was hunting around...I first went to the Old Pueblo Trader website and saw a pair of Easy Spirit walking shoes....nothing fancy smanchy but practical--since I don't have a car, my main mode of transportation is walking...so in other words do walk a lot. A friend of mine had given me a pair of Easy Spirit shoes as a gift and they were soooooo comfortable..but then before I decided to order from Old Pueblo Traders I decided to go directly to the Easy Spirit website...they naturally had the exact same thing..FOR TEN DOLLARS LESS ..bingo..ordered them late Monday night...and got them yesterday! And without paying extra shipping for any kind of next day shipping! It's really too warm yet to wear these shoes so will when it gets cooler but when I tried them on they are so comfortable... a hell lot more comfortable than the Nikes or Pumas I tried on in the shoe store near me...so today I figured oh, what the heck...and just ordered a pair of sandals there on sale for more than half off the original price. It's like I'm ordering everything on-line now. I even recently stocked up on Printing Ink for my HP Printer and got them at OfficeWorld and the price was so incredibly lower than the same exact ink that I can buy at my local Walgreens only a few blocks away..no tax or shipping charges either! So do you find yourself having gotten a tad lazy and rather than shopping in a store, buy more on-line? Oh, and don't forget good ole ebay...I've gotten a lot of bargains there as well.

Most stores in my area are at least a 30 minute drive away, so I do find myself, more and more shopping on-line. It is so much more convenient.

I do a lot of online shopping, especially for Christmas. Some of the things I do get for others as gifts are sports memorabilia so I get them at certain onine sites or even from e-bay for the hard to find items. I find it nice to sit here in my home and browse and compare also and have it delivered to my door. I tend to get shopping for Christmas over with sooner too.

I do a lot of my christmas shopping online. Its just easier, then running around to all the stores, searching for the items. That way I can save on gas, and not have all the stress of dealing with people. I haven't really been buying to much online right now, but it is much easier. I think that its good for poeple who aren't able to get around, and for those with small children who don't want to drag them out.

Yes, I would imagine it's just plain cheaper too to shop on-line that using up a lot of gas driving around to a lot of places. Most places here in my area can travel on public transportation like the subway...but yikes around Christmas time it's just too darn crowded on the subways and in the stores.

This is just too weird Pye... when you started the other discussion about Nikes, I was going to go on a rant of my own about them. I paid 70 bucks for a pair once and had to give them away because the tendons in my toes became excruciatingly painful after I wore them for even as little as 30 minutes! I was going to tell you that the most comfortable tennis shoe I ever wore were my Easy Spirits. I got distracted by something else and figured phuck it and never posted. And now here you got a pair of Easy Spirits!!!!! Friggin' amazing!

That really is weird...I just wasn't impressed with the Nikes and they did feel like cement bricks on my feet when I tried them on in the store...LOL. Want to hear something really wacky though? I used to go to a FOOT doctor and he kept recommending Nikes...he didn't think Easy Spirit was a good shoe....wonder where he got his degree from?

You wanna hear something double whacky?? I got my Easy Spirits from an orthopedic shoe store. This is when I was a plant lady so I was on my feet all day long running around, and I told them that, so they were suggesting shoes that would be appropriate for that kind of activity. But my eyes landed on those Easy Spirits and when I put them on it was like walking on clouds and felt like a second skin. I had to have them, but the sales lady said "Oh, they will not give you any support". I told her tough, I wanted them anyway. And I bought them. They lasted me for years and never failed to be the most comfortable shoe I had ever worn!

Oh I love shopping online way better than schlepping around the mall or to stores. I can't remember the last time I went to the mall either. Something about not getting out of your PJs that makes it even better! Any day that I don't have to go out and fight the masses is a GREAT day! I wouldn't call it lazy, I would call it smart! :)

Oh absolutely, and I must admit, I'm an Ebay and Etsy junkie. I have a buying problem, and if I can feed the addiction without leaving the house, even better! Then I don't have to drag three kids around (and an unwilling husband too if it comes to it!)

I have not found that yet, but I really do not have money to spend, either.I am beginning to build up my pay pal, though. I am going to look into your easy spirit recommendation. Another advantage is no gas money to go out and run from shop to shop. I have a site I visit that I can earn points toward giftcards if I shop through them, so I will see what I can find. It is like getting a rebate.

You will get an invitation in your personal e mail. I have not cashed out for the cards there yet, but many people on here and on Gather have. I have looked at computer stuff, and gotten some, but now I want to see if I can get Easy Spirit Shoes!!!

I don't always find things I want to shop fast for on-line. When I was hunting around for my computer desk...which I ordered a few months before I actually got my computer system, it took me two whole months to decide which one I wanted....LOL--that's how fussy I was.

I guess I did take a chance by ordering my mattress on-line without trying it first in a store...but I haven't regretted getting my bed. My friend has one of those firm mattress and she let me try it out....OUCH...it was like lying on a cement block it was so hard...LOL....so I ordered "Plush" oh, and it sooo nice and soft..just right! My kitties love it too...LOL

I definitely prefer shopping online. It's how I do much of my comparison shopping and it's how I find a lot of cheap items especially the books I use in my classes. I found a book the school bookstore wanted to charge me $71 for, for a much better price; $12. I could have gotten it much cheaper but the person that was selling it for that price was in my home state and they offered a faster shipping. It's a lot easier in my opinion. You can save on gas money, you don't need to worry about taking long trips, you don't have to fight with crowds. It ships right to your door. It's an awesome way to get products in my opinion.

I love shopping at Amazon. I've actually sold quite a few of my own books on there so I could both cut down on clutter and gain a bit of extra cash for school. I also buy my books used there because it's so much better for the environment to buy used, not to mention it's great on the wallet.

I mostly just "window shop", whether in person or online. My friend Juanita, on the other hand, just isn't happy if she's not buying something... she has like "8000" pairs of shoes and handbags but still buys more.

nowadays i find i do. there's usually a better selection and better prices, and i don't have to burn gas or deal with crowded stores. it's been a blessing as far as buying music cd's-we have one store that's been here forever, their selection sucks, and their clerks are rude-they follow you around the whole time you shop like you're going to steal, then say things like "oh,this costs X amount, you know" (yes,i know.otherwise i wouldn't have picked it up,jackass) i haven't set foot in there since being able to buy online. rude=no business from me

I do a lot of shopping on line through my rewards program. I get so many points per dollar that I spend and can cash them in for gift cards. This gives me a little extra spending power, but every little bit does help. It works good for someone like me too because I hate to shop.

Hi pyewacket! It has been a long time for me now since I went to the mall because it would mean bringing some extra cash to begin with which I don't have at the moment. But shopping online has been really easy and convenient for me and my husband nowadays too. With some of my small earnings online, I can buy some stuffs I really like and they cost really cheap compared to those specialty boutiques in the mall. However, my online shopping is limited within my country alone because I have to consider the shipping cost if I bought in an online shop which is from another country which will be quite expensive already. Take care always..God Bless!

Boutiques are ALWAYS so expensive that's why I ignore them....There's a Victoria Secret in the mall near me....woman go ga-ga buying their bras and things there...the prices are high...$40 to $50 for one bra...I wound up getting a Hanes bra for $9.99 in the Walgreen's near me...LOL Sometimes even buy bras at the dollar store...think lots of times people are just paying for the "name"

Hi pye! That is so true! People pay for the brand name more. I usually look for quality yet inexpensive goods..I really don't go ga-ga for those expensive brand names. I do think it is a waste of money for there are a lot of inexpensive goods that offers good quality. lovelots..faith210

There was actually a big ado not too long ago here in the US that hackers somehow got credit card info from anyone who shopped in different stores (both on-line and off=line)..stores like Barnes & Noble, TJ Maxx, Office Max and so forth...yes one does have to be careful...Too bad most places on-line don't use PayPal...think that would be a little more secure

I think the only thing I've bought online is prepaid codes for my cellphone. I got those from a site that accepts e-currencies. It's rather hard to buy stuff online here in Romania. The e-shops are not so many, most of them deal with computers or computer-associated materials (such as printer ink and so on). Another problem is that we are not really used to using credit/debit cards to their full quality. We like the good old fashioned cash, partially because... there aren't many shops you can buy with the card either. I for one don't trust giving any details from my debit card or account to any site...

I have not experienced your situation with online shopping. But to answer your question..........yes, I find that I buy more food when I go shopping while hungry. That is the worst for me. I will purchase more than I planned for every single time. I try real hard to be disiplined and only purchase my planned items but if I am hungry at the time I am in trouble.

I wayyy prefer to do my shopping on-line - for all the same reasons you've mentioned for yourself... Particularly for the holidays - I'm just not one to enjoy the store crowds - comparison shopping is nearly impossible in stores - and for me - it's exhausting ! Yupper - I'm a big fan of doing the shopping thing - on line !

I shop a lot online too buying clothes, accessories, pet stuff, etc. I know you'd think how would you know what the out fit would look on me if i didn't try it on but now the internet has virtual models for you to key in your measurements and they show you how'd you look you also get to choose your hair, eye and skin color plus your hairstyle so you can see which hair suits your outfit best. neat eh? but when it comes to accessories you gotta be careful to not order something too fragile and pet stuff make sure they don't have flea's!
