I think electronics should have labels on them. I say this because there are companies that work better than others. And if I'm getting a camera or VCR or something I want it to be top quality. I think that's one of the things in life that you shouldn't be frugal with. You don't want a TV dying on you after purchasing it one month before.

I have certain brands that I stay away from and I have certain brands that I prefer, but I'd never buy something that was uncomfortable, regardless of it's brand name. When it comes to electronics, though, I'm with you on having certain preferred brands. However, I do know that that's not even reliable, these days. I know there are a lot of manufacturers who outsource their manufacturing, creating an inferior product or a sometimes superior one.

Not all things that are branded are really assured in quality. There are also "lemons" among branded items. And not all unbranded goods are really bad in quality. But i have to agree with you that it is better to get branded items than not. I have a sony and JVC digicam, my laptop is asus, my phones are nokia N85 and sony Ericsson p910.They have proven their worth as i have been using them for a long time now and don't find the need to buy brand new ones.

Hi there! I love wrist watches and hand bags and I like them to be branded always. I have several pieces already but I still keep buying new ones. I still look for the style and not only the brand. I believe branded items are really durable. The materials used are strong and the finish is good. Not like those imitations we see. If you would look closely enough you'd see the difference in the finishing. Ciao!

Hi iskayz ;-) i share the same passion for wrist watches. and yes, the brands will always determine the durability and finish of the watches. I have 16 watches to date.. but i cannot afford yet the super expensive ones like omega and rolex. i would love having a technomarine ;-)

i dont care about the brands when it comes to clothing most of the time as long as its fashionable, comfortable, and good quality. But i have made sure that my closet would include at least 1 or 2 of each of the basics -- nice white blouse for corporate settings (I can settle for local brands like kamiseta, bayo, plains and prints) 1 nice black jacket (Giordano is perfect), 1 good slacks (I love Dorothy Perkins and Marks and Spencer), 1 nice fit denim (Levis of course, Gio and Guess), and polo shirt (Lacoste) for friday dress down. I also have at least 1 durable bag for my work out (Nike) and for my office bag, Lacoste goes well. All else of my stuff came from department stores, and bazarres! I love shopping on discounts ;-)... There will always be names we can trust when it comes to gadgets and electronics, but still, the specifications would always come first hand when making a choice.

Same here, I don't really go after branded stuff, unless I just buy it one time. When it comes to gadgets and gizmos, I make sure that it's branded since I have trust issues with some that are not branded because of its quality. I don't really buy branded stuff all the time, only if I want to splurge my cash into treating myself after a stressful work.

I don't care what brands any of my clothes or gadgets are. For me, price is always an issue. As long as something has a good warranty or is purchased from a reputable company, that's all I care about. Names mean nothing - especially since so many companies farm out their parts manufacturing to other countries.

When I was living in Brasil all my clothes had brands, I just love the original in all if I cannot have it I do not buy it. In USA is different people really do not care much, so I just start to buy good quality clothes not caring also about it, nobody sees it! Now for computers and other gadgets like my wrist watch I use brand names! Oh yeah sunglasses also, have to have a brand!

Actually I have never been a fan of "brand names". I learned long ago that a lot of items of a cheaper brand are made in the exact same factories and of the exact same materials as items with an expensive brand label on them. I would rather get something just as good for less money, rather than worrying about the brand.
