Well all of you'll can post in your answers here. There was a very sensible answer for this question. Think over it and keep posting in your thoughts and replies. Lets see who comes up with the most reasonable answer. Once people post in their views i will reveal the right answer.

Of course this is a trick question. The question asked was not to jump out of the window, the question is to jump down from the window. Maybe want is meant is that you are at the window fixing something and are asked to jump down to the floor. I am thinking hard, if I come up with anything else I will return. The key thing I do know, is that jump out of the window was not said. So whatever jumping is taking place in within the room.

Congratulations sudalunts. You were the first person amongst all to think of the right answer and your answer is perfect. You thought in the right direction i was just jump down and not out so basically jump back in. All the rest who shared the same answer are right and real good thinking guys for all those of you who got it right. The HR of the company was expecting this answer.

If the interviewer didnt mention which side i need to jump the i will stand on the window and wil jum back to same room. If he wants to jump outside then I am sorry i am here to make earning for good living. But as soon as i hear this question i will opt for first option without giving interviewr a seccond chance to change it.

My reply: "I would jump. After you. I always follow example from the top." It's not reasonable I know but that's the only thing I can come up with now that I have drank my tea and feel so relax

Hi Razor, I guess the HR is either trying to be funny or testing the candidate's level of subordination. Well, there are 2 ways I could do this: 1. He asked me to jump down from the window. He didn't say from the window to the ground floor. So I will jump down from this side of the window onto the floor of his office. 2. Or I tell him "You jump first, you are my leader. I shall follow your lead" Well, I don't know if I'd be kicked out of the room for being cheeky!

The question is a trick question. It says JUMP DOWN, so I am assuming that is to jump down from the window sill INWARDS. So I would say yes I will jump down from the window onto the floor in your office. lol

First and foremost I’d ask that if I am hired, how much would the company insure me for…if there’s no insurance in the package, then forget it. Whether jumping from the window or out of it, I am not into it. But if there’s a good insurance package in the pay-packet deal, I’d ask the HRD person how come being an employees, he’s is risking so much loss for his company.

Pretty tough question. If someone asked such question to me in an interview, I would call 911 and when they come, I would have jumped on their net on ground. In this way, ordered obeyed and I shall be still living. I know you will laugh at this but this came in my mind. Thought to share with you.

obviously the question is just testing your level of willingness, commitment, trust and sacrifice for the company.. this could be kind of tricky, if you won't jump coz you think that is the best decision which is to save yourself coz you think you are more worthy than the job itself, you may get an impression that you're confident that other companies may be interested in you and you won't sacrifice your ambitions just for the sake of it.. "hmmm. good point.." coz what is in you is bigger than your own life.. on the other hand, if you answer that you will really jump off the window, the impression of you might be that your level of willingness and commitment is up to the point of throwing everything you've got, your time, family, skills and abilities, yourself.. "wow! you're really hardworking!" and as for my answer, "I would like to take a shot to do it, after all there's no harm in trying, I know it could be risky but risk is good too for it can bring greater reward in the end.. that, if you know how to play the game, I noticed that the question itself doesn't state any conditions before you jump off the window, what I would do is grab a parachute, wear it and off I go, why? coz I'm willing to try, committed to do it, knows how to protect myself, outwit the test, trusting that everything will work out fine, and.. enjoy the ride! if it won't work, after all it's worth the experience... "happy bungie jumping!" lol. p.s. I hope I'll get a "best response" for this.. it's worth the risk.. u know.. lol.

Good day...I think I'm gonna jump from the window inward since the hr just specified to jump and not the direction. Even if the hr ask me to jump out of the window would anyone consider doing it? I mean seriously.

Of course i would never jump. I'm not insane to do what he's asking me to do. Life over Money. The reason we apply for a job is to have money to stay living. And then he's asking me to jump? haha.. Is he okay? hehe

I shall sit at the window and then make my jump down to the room, from which I came to the window! This will never harm me irrespective of the height of the floor at which, I am present! Thanks for this funny discussion!

a very absurd question...i wonder if this question will really asked during a job interview. but if i were the interviewee and this kind of question will be asked by my interviewer i will definitely answer yes with a big BUT...i will jump out of the building provided he/she will give me a parachute and other safety measures, if nothing will be given to assure my safety no matter how much persuassion i will never do such stupid thing. i will instead tell them that if i jump out of the 10th floor and die i won't be able to show my talent and skill for the betternment of their company.
