I have sown for my children growing up and while I was married to my first husband, I sewed all of our outfits for square dancing. I took home ed in junior high and then I have taught myself a lot of what I know. Many of the things that I have made, I have just bought a pattern and said do or die. If you can alter clothes then you should not have any problem sewing your own clothes. Just remember to start something easy and not extremely tailored unless you feel confident.

I have sewn my own clothes in the past from patterns. I did make my kids clothes from scratch when they were toddler. You get a lot of satisfaction from making your own clothes. I have not sewn any clothing in awhile, but I have brought several patterns which I plan to use when I ever I am able to find some cheap fabric.

I have sewn clothes for my kids (not very often though), but I have never sewn clothes for myself.

I have sewn many of my own clothes and clothes for my daughter, grand daughters and a coat for a friend of mine. If you are able to alter clothes then making your own isn't that hard. For your first projects choose easy patterns that have good directions. If you get stuck don't be afraid to go to the fabric or quilt shop and ask questions. You'll get the hang of making your own clothes rather quickly and will enjoy having something that you designed especially for you.

I sometimes sew my own clothes An easy and cheap way for me was to make a pettern by tracing the patterns of the garment. That way, you don't have to stuggle making you're own pattern or buying a pattern. Good luck!!
