I will lose my job come January !!

My office is closing down in December and I will be without a job soon. Its hard to take in and I have to find another job soon, which at my age is difficult. I was the only earning member and this has come as a shock to me. I really dont know what to do or how to tackle this. My son is still in college and I have to pay his fees besides all the expenses, and today this news has shattered me. Pleas remember me in y our prayers and hope things work out for me.4 responses

That is bad news indeed and I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm sure you will be able to find something similar to your present line of work. You need to start your business contacts or people you come across in your line of work. Normally they are first people I would go to.

I am sorry to hear that. Hope you are able to find something soon. You are worried about your age? Maybe its time to take stock - what skills do you have that you can put to use to make money?
In our office there are people who come in every now and then to sell baked goodies. They already have contacts within the building, so they just call them to get orders, then deliver the goods later. Or sometimes its not just pastries but a packed lunch.
Also I saw on the internet a way to make money at home - home-based medical and legal transcription. I want to try it, but I am working and studying at the same time, so I figured now is not the time; maybe later after I finish schooling.
These are just a few ideas. I am sure there are a lot more out there. Good luck.

Here in my country even though I am a graduate, I need to take classes for transcription which are really costly. Ill anyway have to take them so that I can work from home. Being up in age, now and always doing an office job, this is going to be difficult, but whatever, ill have to do it to make ends meet. Thank you for your advice and your blessings. I feel even youngsters blessings count. God Bless

I understand how you feel. I was working two jobs for survival, I'm alone. I lost one this past January and have not been able to replace it. I'm up there in years, but I still have to work! My quality of life has changed. I've had to cut corners drastically. I'll pray for you while I pray for something for me as well.
