Was anyone a "Stay-At-Home" wife before they had children?

I made keeping house my career, but I am a very creative and artistic person, so perhaps that is why I enjoyed making our home my job, even before I had kids. It also saved us alot of money.

I was a stay at home wife early on in our marriage, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't long though.

Well if you call being pregnant, not married yet and at home not working, then yeah. I had a hard time finding a job before I got married and before I gave birth. for about 2 months my husband was in another state. when he moved me and him tried to find jobs. after we married I still couldn't find a job and my due date was getting closer as well. we lived together for a few months before marriage and within that time i had a small job during christmas and that was it. I would have loved to work more at that time so i could save since we didn't have much, but i always knew my husband didn't want me to work outside the home once i had the babies. and i haven't since.

I respect your question, but these days most women are mothers before they are wives. It is a sign of the time. Women seem open to having children first and the marriage may come later, sometimes the marriage never comes. It is nice that you did it in order, marriage, home and then children. Good luck to you.
