What kind of hamster is this?

I just bought a hamster and I forgot to ask on what kind it is. It has white and black stripes. Does anybody know about this kind?

Since you didn't include a picture, and just going by your description, it sounds like a black bear hamster. They are mostly black and look like little bears. Some do have white markings, normally on their chest or stomach area.

The "Bear" hamsters are also known as "syrian" hamsters.
It could be a russian dwarf though depending on its size?
Maybe its really a baby skunk?? lol
