After a little over four (4) years of auditing work I’ve finally got the chance to find a work in one of our country’s leading Power Generating Companies. At first, I really couldn’t believe that I was finally leaving this auditing firm, which is by the way the leading auditing firm here in the Philippines. Yes, this auditing firm has become my home away from home. I got to work with people of the same age range. I got to meet new friends and colleagues. I even found my best friend here! I would say that I have found a new life in audit. When it comes to work, I found it really challenging yet fulfilling. We got to handle different clients from different industry backgrounds. The challenge is that we get to face different people with different personalities. We should learn how to deal with them or else, we will really hear something, err, unpleasant… But at the end, its all worth it, especially when we meet our clients’ expectations and deadlines. Going back, I have mixed emotions right now. Happy – because I got to find a new company offering good compensation package and overtime work will become a rare situation. Sad – because after a long period of time I’m going to leave my so-called “home away from home” including my friends that I have worked with since I entered the firm. I guess in life there will come a time when you have to give up of something in order to gain something better. You have to let go to hold on to something new. You have to put something to an end in order for you to have a brand new start. How about you guys, was there a time when you have to give up something to get something better in return? Share with us your experiences…

I have had to give up alot of things in my life. One of the things I gave up, was my freedom to do what I wanted to do when I had my daughter. I gave up buying myself things also to make sure she got what she needed to have. I have gave up alot of things just to make sure the bills were paid and food on the table also.

hi stephcjh! it's been a while since we had this conversation. how are you? I agree with what you just shared and I guess when you "earn" additional responsibilities in life, you "loose" some of the things you enjoy doing. I think being a parent requires so many sacrifices and you have become good at it. I salute you for being a good parent. ^_^
