Stretched Ears: Do You Prefer Plugs or Spirals?

I love spirals! I think it is just so cool to be able to weave something through your ear and have a nice look without having to hold it in place with anything. Plugs are cool too though, I probably have more plugs than spirals so far just because they are easier to wear on a daily basis. So which do you prefer if you have stretched ears (or even if you don't I suppose)?

ewww I'm sorry, just the idea.... I have enough trouble with the tiny holes they made, I don't think someone my age would look good with anything else - heck - I don't really like looking at young people with them either. And how are they going to look when they are 50? 70?

I had actually never initially planned to stretch my ears. But I had so much trouble with the tiny holes I had getting allergies to silver and gold. I ended up stretching them so that I could wear glass earrings and my ears have never felt better (well, maybe they did before they were ever pierced I suppose). I think my ears will go back if I decide to grow them back together when I turn 50 or something. Or I just figure old people usually have such ugly looking ears anyway that it's not going to matter much, I might as well enjoy wearing earrings now while I can. Mine aren't stretch too too big though. I'd have to agree a lot of people get really excessive with the stretching.

i wear 4 gauge cbr horseshoe shape type ear wear.i dont even refer to them as earrings because they are quite different from a regular earring.they are alot thicker of course and thus, will not ever slice down into and through you're earlobe over time like traditional hoop earrings do. the cbr's which stands for(captive beaded ring) have these small metal balls on the bottom of each end.it's like a small metal horseshoe basically with a metal ball on each of the two ends on the bottom.they serve as fasteners.fasten after putting em on and unfasten when going to take em out. my earlobes used to be stretched way out to almost 1/2" in the past when i wore plugs and tunnels but these days,i only wear the 4 gauge cbr's because i really like the feel.the look is okay as well but i wear them very much mostly for the feel. my once quite big lobe holes closed up to a much smaller size after only a couple of weeks,so,really,it wasnt much of a big deal at all.i was at 1/2" for months as well,so,basically,it didnt become even close to becomming a permanent thing. i remember just not wearing anything in my lobes for several weeks and they totally closed up from an initial visual standpoint allthough i could still put 4 gaugers right in,which i did,and now, will not wear anything else in my lobes. they feel just right.very comfortable and not too big or too small.

That's cool. I have been concerned that they'd never go back, so I'm glad to hear ears are significantly stretchy. I thought the captive bead rings only referred to the ones where the bead is held by pressure? I've got 12 gauge horse shoes now which I find I like as my hair can't get stuck in them easily.
