why do politics have to be so nasty?

Politics has never been 'not nasty' LOL! I feel like my choices are limited to bad, worst, and horrible at this point and all I'm looking for is someone who might at least keep the economy where it is now, just not worse. Don't get me wrong, it is bad now but I'd rather it remains stable even if bad than takes a dive again. I'd also appreciate an end date to bring ALL the troops home and perhaps some tax credit or something to help relieve the ballooning costs of health care, or if they can't do that, at least force the ins co to pay for everything on some sort of sliding scale. Other than that, I don't care to see them argue with each other in debates, I don't care to see them mudsling each other and each say crap about the other one, that is so childish and demeaning. I would also rather have them NOT promise things they never intend to do or fulfill just to try and gain support, and I want them to ask US what we want, not make decisions based on what THEY want. Anyhow, politics really are for somebody else, and I only want to know the bare minimum relating to it. As long as I won't be affected by their immature games, they can go on and on for all I care. I can't believe they don't see how they act, and in public, or on tv!
