Each Linux distribution has it's own weak and strong points, but generally they tend to be more secure and offer greater performance than Windows (Microsoft tends to throw in lots of unnecessary memory intensive applications) not to mention they're free. Microsoft has the upper hand as far as user friendliness and driver support goes, but Linux is catching up, watch out for them. It's just a matter of opinion, you could come up with a hundred of arguments of why one is better than the other, but really both are capable of doing everything you'd need, just try out both and see which one works for you.

i agree at the point of drivers and so in linux, but it's still a powerfule OS, i agree also that every Distribution have it's own weak and strong points. i think most now use Both, depend at what he/she want to do everyday :)) Microsoft make it easy and get money for it, linux make it hard a bit but Free :)) Thank you for the answer dude ;)

if I have a choice, I want to use Linux because it is very secured and because I grew up using Windows. Well that is if I have a choice. But until now I still use Windows because it is user friendly and I get used to it already.

At the moment I use both, on different PC's but if I had to choose, then I would have to pick Linux. I am presently using Mandriva Linux on one of my computers and Puppy Linux on an older Laptop, and if it wasn't for the children wanting to play the games all the time, then I would be able to replace Windoze altogether.

If it is a client PC, then I preferred to use Windows since it is much friendly users and people can easily follow the procedures compared to linux. But if it is a server, then I preferred to use Linux, it is more robust and safe as far as viruses and speed is concerns.

I will choose the Windows one. Because I have use it for 5 years. In linux there are interface like Windows but the programe that compatible with this OS is very rare and I don't know how to use it. The most famous programme that I know is only mozilla firefox. So I swift use windows, I choose this one.

My desktop choice would be windows as all hardware vendors release the device drivers for it, which might not be the case in Linux/Unix systems. But when it comes to server use my money is on Linux/Unix.

I would have gone for linux,as am doin engineering and most of the tools i use are for Windows , even though there are cross platform softwares to run windows applications on Linux but its not so stable so currently i might stick to windows may be later switch to LINUX.

For workstation users, I recommend that you use windows because it has a user friendly environment and easy to use. Linux is good for servers because of its security and versatility. I use CentOS when installing and setting up servers.
