College books

So I was going over online the list of books that I would need to get for this semester. And they cost a lot. There is like one that cost around $21 and if I buy it used it'll cost $16. Right now I don't really have a penny to buy the books with. So I have some old books here from other semesters and I am going to try and sell them back to my bookstore tomorrow. Hopefully they give me enough to buy three books and I'll have some money leftover. They usually are supposed to give me like half of the original cost. And the books that I have I bought them new. So I have a guess of how much I might get, but it might be less or nothing at all. I think I might get around $150 which will be enough to buy three books and have some leftover. I need you guys to pray for me and send me all your good vibes so that everything goes good tomorrow. I really need to buy those new books for class which starts on Tuesday. Most of the books from my online classes I was able to get them from the library but then i need to buy these other books from the two classes that I am taking on campus because I can't find them in the library. So I'll really appreciate it if you guys send me your good vibes. Thanks and have a nice evening to everyone. ^_^

I know the bookstore says they're supposed to give you 'up to half back'. However that's pretty misleading and ends up scamming a lot of college students. I know at my school, if you sell your book back the week before finals, you WILL receive half back from the book. However, if you sell it back later, you will only receive so much. The more books they get back, the less they will pay you for a book when you sell it back. It's a terrible scam really that is costing people thousands of dollars.

Yeah my university bookstore has these dates where you could go and you will get up to half back. And I went during one of those dates last semester and I got some pretty decent cash back. Students spend som uch and then get so little back.

Hello ayumitakashi. I am sending so many good vibes to you, I'm surprised if you can't feel them or see them! It is so inspiring that, even though you struggle to stay in school, you still do it. That's because you know how important it is. And, it is very important. The day will come that you will be so glad you went to school and completed it. I hope you get alot of money back for your old books and that you have more than enough to get your new ones. Take care.

Yeah thanks for that. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get that much. I am so sad right now. I was only able to sell back one book and for $9! I was shocked when the girl told me that. But she told me to keep one of the book that I had that comes with this other stuff because it may be worth something later on. So I'm just going to keep it here and then sell it when this semester is over. I'll probably start a discussion about this. I've struggled a lot to stay in college, there are times when I lose patience because it's so hard. And beign from the low middle class it's pretty hard to afford books and other stuff. But I know how important it is to finish it and get ahead.

Good luck on getting your books sold back to the bookstore. Here, whenever I have sold textbooks back, I would not even get 25% back. Sometimes, the bookstores won't buy them back at all because the books for the class has been changed. A good place to buy college textbooks in on Amazon.com. You can also sell the ones you already have there, too.

That sucks man. The last time that I went to sell my textbooks in the university bookstore I think I received around 50% of the price or somewhere around there. But I am really hoping that I am able to sell them tomorrow so I can buy the books and buy some stuff tomorrow that is needed at home. Thanks and have a lovely evening.

I'm sending you good vibes and cursing your good luck. My books I am buying online, and it is still going to cost me like 400. But in the bookstore it would be closer to 800 for four classes... Ugggg :-( Best of luck to you!

I bought my books online too. I couldn't find it in my bookstore because the teacher had not ordered it so I had to order it over the internet. I know how hard it is to give up that much money for some books. Did you try and see if you can get some of the books in the library? Try and see because that will at least save you a few bucks if you can find at least one book in the library. Good luck and thanks for the good vibes. ^_^
